ACTIVE SYNC

I have tried to Sync my XDA with Outlook. When I connect the XDA to the cradle, the Active Sync programme icon in the system tray of the PC spins around a green colour and the programme says "connecting". However, it never connects to the XDA so that I can synchronise it.

Does anyone know what the problem is?
