Siemens SX66 Unlock

I'm a really new idiot and have just bought a Siemens SX66 for Cingular. I am trying to unlock and here's the dumbest question of all...Are you supposed to have the SIM card installed while you run the program?
I've tried it both ways and get 2 different sets of errors depending on if the SIM card is in or out. I was a former ATT customer here in the US that now belongs to Cingular. Any help with complete instructions would be greatly appreciated.

really, all you should do is place this file, assuming you have the corrcet file, place it in your 'my documents' folder, and click on it.... mine gave me an error, but after i clicked on it again, it gave me a message saying it had unlocked it.... i think the first time it failed was because i had the file on my sd card, so i moved it and it worked!!!!

try that if you didnt already!!!
