Finally I have no excuse not to stick with Windows Mobile 5... apart from the lack of MMS. ;)
I tried signing up for your website, but it says the account is locked when I try to log in...? Username's the same as here.

Hi Buzz,
After read your instrutions I'm sure I'll wait for a WM5 final ROM that I hope you will prepare.
Why?
Because I'm not expert in this subject, and if I was abble to perform several ROM updates in my Qtek 2020 (since 2002, 2003, SE and finnally Buzz WM5), when is supose to perform more tricky stuff like this, I prefer not to play...
So, Buzz, please, when you have time, cook for us a WM5 (click and shoot) ROM.
Thanks for your attention,
Bye

There is no rom to make the big storage because the disk on chiop is like a hard drive on a pc ...
the partition of disk on chip are directly coded on it ...
on a pc , have you a os that pârtition the hard drive itself ??? no , there is tool to partiotion hard drive ... for the DOC of himalaya , it's same ...
you have to use a tool that it partition the DOC , and the os of pocketpc use the partition like it is ....

WORKS FINE IN WM2005! Just run it without a Storage Card in your device.
Repartitioned and then Hard Reset.
30.4MB!!! :D
WELL DONE BUZZ, we all really appreciate your hard work. Thank you.

actually the earliest discover found that you only need to remove the SD before running the tools when Formatting under WM2k5
but you have to Backup first your DOC using this Command d2s 70000000 01F20000 or just your Extended_ROM d2s 70000000 01080000 under mtty.exe/romupdate.exe just like this in this very popular post
http://en.pdamobiz.com/en/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=62
we do this so you can restore back your DOC to its originial Partition with no Problem..

Hi toenailed,
I did this partitioning without taking a bacup. As expected I am not able to revert to the earlier state, I am not able to install any extended rom fies and worst of all my camera is not functioning. Can you help me to recover from this state. Regards.

Here goes nuthin....
OK,
[EDITED]
STEP 1: backup DOC using mtty/romupdate to SD card under bootloader mode. (Port: \\.\WCEUSBSH001)
STEP 2: remove SD card and reset XDA2. Run Hima_DOC_Tool_1.0.exe inside device.
STEP 3: Allow repartitioning to happen, hard reset using POWER+RESET BUTTON
STEP 4: Go through Welcome screen again. Check memory. Storage = 30.53MB, In use: 10.44MB, Free 20.09MB.
Now, I have re-installed all the previous installed software such that some of the key ones can go into /DEVICE partition. If you would like to restore your original partitions with software/data intacted, follow STEP 5-9.
STEP 5: End wcescomm.exe process (ActiveSync). Put XDA2 in bootloader mode again and put device on cradle.
STEP 6: Run romupdate.exe (Port: \\.\WCEUSBSH001), enter command : task 28.
STEP 7: Pull out your device from cradle, and put in the SD card with DOC backup previously. You can close off romupdate tool now.
STEP 8: Holding the device in your hands, go into bootloader mode again. Wait till you see the message "PRESS Power to Flash", then press the power button on top-left of the device. If it does not work, alternatively press CAMERA button. the SD Download sequence will commence, wait till it tells you CheckSum OK!.
STEP 9: Do a soft reset and you will get back to the original 14.5MB /DEVICE system. great.

except for a more convenient storage space (for larger programs) what exactly is the great benefit of a 32 MB storage versus 2 x 16 MB ?
I wanna use the doc tool, just making sure it's worth the risk

For starters, some of the WM2005 or 3rd party software hardwired the installation path to /DEVICE. I had to previously tweaked the registry or menu icons to refer to a folder under /STORAGE_CARD or /Extended_ROM.
In addition, I had to put in some Chinese fonts in /WINDOWS directory, and these files are huge.
Without using 3rd party tools like PocketZenPhone, you will have to put your ringtones, themes etc into /WINDOWS directory as well.

Buzz...
First thanks for your all work put into Hima :D I miss you...
When I told my friends who use Wizards about DOC repartitioning, they asked if this is possible on their Wizard...
So, can you explain exactly, how did you achieved that? Were you hacking partition table by hand in hex? Or there's some other way?
