Network is locked???

Hi All,

I am new user of pocket pcs. I purchased an O2 XDA II Triband from ebay but when I insert my Optus SIM card and start the PDA it shows a message some thing like that "Network is locket". I want to use it as a fone. Is there anyone who can tell me whats the problem and what should I do to resolve the problem?? Step by step procedure would be the best one for me :)

If your fone is the basic XDA2, then go to this forum:

and ignore the bit about the program being replaced. If on the other hand you have a fone that is newer than the XDA2, (XDA2i, XDA2s, XDA3 etc.) go to the forum above and click on the link at the top for the newer fones.

There are step by step instructions available on each posting, which explain how to do it. Take notice of the warnings given in the postings, as I believe unlocking the fone may invalidate warranties etc but it depends on the country your in, source of the fone etc. As allways, any modifications are taken at your own risk. Saying that, ive not had any problems, and this community has helped me out a lot. Enjoy
