ok I'll get straight to the point.......Most mobil phones and smartphones is stolen or lost are able to be locked blocked from use by the phone company so they are not usable if found or stolen.......is this true with PPc phone edition's like BlueAngel (O2 Xda IIs)................and if so is there a work around this?...... and before anyone asks i legal own my BlueAngel...its just that i lost my first one so claimed one on the insurance for it recieved my new one that was about 4 months ago...but 2 weeks ago a mate of mine found my old one that went missing after we went camping it got packed away with the camping gear...........so now i have 2 but one i am too scared to put a sim card in to use or try...........can anyone give me info about this cause I'd like to give it to the GF to use........:-)

The lost/stolen phone will be blocked on all networks, it will be useful to somebody outside your country as a phone and pda but useful to you only as a pda, why not set it up as a navigation system/mp3 player for your car? There is no way that I know of that can alter imei which is a crime in UK and carries a maximum 5 years inprisonment plus fine.

yeh well if u search harder u could find ways to change IMEI i have already came accross sites explaining how to ... but clearly its illegal ... even if u were gonna change ur IMEI to string to the identical one the insurance gave u bak ...
