Parzialmente falso.

I will write in english, since this is an international board :-).

You start your update process by executing the MAUPGRADEUT.EXE file, found on the same folder where the other .NBF files are.
It happens that the executable asks the PDA for its 'Vendor ID' so that you can't update your T-MOBILE branded device using the ROM delivered by QTEK or iMate.
Since italian QTEK only delivers ITALIAN roms, you are not allowed to update your italian device with an english rom delivered by another vendor/operator.
Well, you were not allowed !
The SD method was widely used before a kind guy wasted a few minutes to... ehm... 'debug' the MAUPGRADEUT.EXE file and bypass the vendor ID check.
You should be able to find a file called MAUPGRADEUT_NOID.EXE somewhere on the FTP server or on the net.
Simply download the ROM version you like, being it WWE (world wide english) or Chinese!, copy the 'NOID' exe on the ROM folder and launch it in place of the original one. After ~20 minutes you'll be done.
That's all, folks.

(Spero di essere stato chiaro! ;-)
