hi guys! i'm benz and i'm from the philippines. i just recently bought a mint xda2..i was wondering if you could help me with some of the basics. :D i don't know where to start! (this forum is so full of info!) since i'm beginning to experiment with upgrades in OSes, can you guys fill out something for me? thanks!

1. i noticed there is a WM2003SE OS and a WM2005 OS for the xda2. i was wondering what are the differences of this OSes?

2. it's possible for WM2005 to go back to WM2003SE (or even the default xda2 O2)?

3. when it comes to stability, is the XdA2JoJo.v3.2zS version the best for my xda2?

4. I don't know about you guys, but my GSM signal for SUN seems to be reaaaaally lagged everytime. is this affected by the rom? (i'm using the latest O2 upgrade).

finally an OT question:

when converting a DivX movie to play for my xda2, how big will the file usually be?

some inputs to your questions...

1. i noticed there is a WM2003SE OS and a WM2005 OS for the xda2. i was wondering what are the differences of this OSes?

ans: one big difference from the original os to the 2003se is the ability to switch from portrait to landscape mode easily and without kinks. before this rom came out a bunch of chaps (including me) tried using software like jslandscape or nyditot for landscape mode. for the 2005, it takes the 2003se even further by adding a whole lot of enhancements. xda2jojo and buzz and toenailed did some very amazing work in bringing that rom to the xda2. and chances are they're still working on making it even better.

2. it's possible for WM2005 to go back to WM2003SE (or even the default xda2 O2)?

ans: downgrading from 2005 to 2003se is possible and has been done by myself and other people as well. for the original os, as long as you have a copy of that rom then it should be possible...though most chaps i know either stayed with se or 2005. btw, 2005 rocks!

finally an OT question:

when converting a DivX movie to play for my xda2, how big will the file usually be?

ans: i use divx; when i converted my dvd of spiderman2 for ppc use the resulting file was around 130mB. i think it depends on the movie length...to be safe you would probably need a 256mB card at the very least for one movie/dvd

cheers

thanks for your inputs! other differences in WM2003 from 2005?

how "buggy" is 2005 for the xda2 anyway?
