Hi everybody!
Finally, I did it! A very modded EXT_ROM Italian version for the Magician.
I've uploaded both the Ext_Rom image and the single files.
These are on the Uploads\Magician folder of this forum ftp site. There is a directory named
Sun75-modded_extended-ROM_ImateJAM_ITA_1.11.301 containing all the CABS and a .zip file named
Sun75-modded_extended-ROM_ImateJAM_ITA_1.11.301.zip containing the same CABS and the Ext_rom image file.
The ext_rom version "301" is an arbitrary (my birth date, 30 Jan) number to be distinguished from other ext_rom versions.
The original cabs are kept from roms ITA_11104_194_11100_NoIDmod.zip (Imate) and MA_DANG_ITA_10604_119_10500_Ship.exe (Qtek).
Because of the way the Magician autoinstalls the cabs (names of the cabs I found are hardcoded in ROM) I had to replace the original cabs with the new ones.
The benefits of this Ext_ROM are:
1) Installs all the tips & tricks I found on this site for the Magician (camera snow effect, anti-theft, various registry settings, etc).
2) Installs everything in \Storage\Windows freeing up 6Mb of RAM with all the default magician software installed.
3) Adds some software "grabbed" from other Ext_Rom images and puts it in "\Scheda di memoria\*" For this reason you have to insert a blank SD in the slot before the auto-install initiates...
4) After all installs, you will end up with 0,45MB free space on Storage, 2,5 Mb used space on the SD card and a lot of RAM free for you!!
Now I'll describe each package...because its name for the reasons explained before could not be meaningful...:-)
->Default_ArcsoftMMS-2.0.0.22.CAB: An MMS client Package.
Modified: moved system files to \Storage\Windows
->Default_BTHUSB_PATCH_AKU26.CAB: The Bluetooth patch.
Modified: Added the anti-theft (IIWPO_anonymous.CAB) code here! By default its registry settings are empty, so, if you don't want to use it... just don't configure it. If you want to use it, you have to modify its registry settings with WinCE CAB Manager or similar products and put your info there:

Modified: moved system files to \Storage\Windows. No problems, until now (sgratt!), with GPRS Vodafone ITA operator.

->Default_Change_Button_Name.sa.CAB: in the origin it was a translation correction.

Moved all files to \Storage\Providers. Default_Delete_vdisk_ITA.sa.CAB: its functions are merged here!
->Default_Imate_ITA_V112.002.CAB: in the origin it sets some Imate customizations
Modified: now is: the same but it sets...my customizations!:-) These are:
1) my own boot splash screen (\windows\splash1.nb and splash2.nb)
2) the Vodafone ITA carrier logo (\windows\carrierlogo.gif)
3) the SMSnotification registry setting and the smsnotify.cpl control panel app found here:

You can change anything as you like, just remaking the ext_rom image with Total Commander with the Virtual Disk plugin and storing it in the SD Rom Dump with an hex editor with instructions to be found here:

Sorry, for now no WWE ext rom modded.....but if you look at my files anyone of you can port this work to WWE roms...
