I have noticed that the XDA IIi has a different connection configuration. I tried an IIs cradle and it does not work. Also sellers on Ebay saying its IIi campatible when it is not.
Does anyone now why this is the case? :D

Helpful answer, I'm sure :P
The reason i asked is because I have had a couple of different PDAs before and have been able to use the same cable, and before you say it yes they were different makes one was an early Compaq Ipaq and the other was the Mitac 168.

It isnt a good idea really, some people noticed that an Ipaq 3800 series connector looked identical to the xda series, after they fried the xda they realised that looks can be deceptive.

mmmmm, well I popped my XDA2i into my wifes XDA2s cradle, it charges and syncs no problem, I also tried my wifes ThinkNavi GPS cradle this also works with my XDA2I, so it does look like thay have the same connection configuration.

hi all!
I have also the same kind of question:
I've lost my MDA (aka XDA), and now I've bough the O2 XDA IIi.
So, can I use the power and cradle of my former XDA with my new one???
I've tried it, and it seems to perfectly work, but if it is not advised or not possible, please tell me and explain me.
thanking u in advance!!!

additional question :D
is there a difference between the cradle of MDA and XDA IIi???
I mean, maybe there first one is a USB and the second one could support USB2?
thanx for ur help!

I've been lurking in these boards for a few days, whilst ebaying for the 'perfect' XDA IIi to get, so I can answer this (having delved through the XDADeveloperWiki)
the connectors for the original XDA and XDAII / XDAIIi are similar enough that bases should be interchangeable.
The XDAIIs has a different pinout and so should NOT be docked to a base from one of the other three.
The XDA DeveloperWiki is a very useful source of info:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php
Here's a page describing the Wallaby (XDA) and Himilaya (XDAII) connectors.
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Connectors
they describe the XDAIIi (codename Alpine) as just an updated Himalaya with a better camera & wifi, but basically unchanged, so the connectors shoud match.
