Hiya Guys :)
Newbie here, and I just got my first 02 XDA IIs PDA phone and I think its absolutlely awesome :D
I just have two small queries at this moment in time.
Q1. What are my options with regards ringtones, as it says it cant play mp3's as ringtones, is this true ? are there apps out there that allow this, if not will it play any other type of extension, i.e. *.wav, *.wmv ?
Q2. Also is there a way of changing the text sms message sound, again to play something different, ideally I would like this to be wav or mp3.
Many thanks and I hope to be able to contribute a lot as I learn.
All the best.
Matt :)

Hi Matt....
With all my respect bro,(and this is not only addressed to u),i ask every Newbie to this forum to read and search before posting....This topic was answered several times before(maybe more than 100!!!!),and a simple search for "mp3 as ringtone" will hit the bull in the eye... (search is on top of ur page).
Now regarding ur questions, here u go....
Q1. What are my options with regards ringtones, as it says it cant play mp3's as ringtones, is this true ? are there apps out there that allow this, if not will it play any other type of extension, i.e. *.wav, *.wmv ?
Read this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=18609&highlight=mp3+ringtone
Q2. Also is there a way of changing the text sms message sound, again to play something different, ideally I would like this to be wav or mp3.
Put the .wav file u wish to assign as sms ringtone in the windows folder, then u can find it in settings/sounds and notifications under sms notification....(i haven't tried other extentions, but give em a shot if u like..)
Greetings...

RAGO ..
Oh man I bet y'all sick of hearing this question eh ?
Really sorry dude, wrists slapped, and points noted
Many thanks for your advice though, really appreciate it :) and I shall certainly make use of the search function in future :)
I run my own web site and forum http://www.fzr1000.co.uk and what I tend to do is put 'sticky' topics for questions most answered, never really implemented the search function I shall have to look into this.
Thanks again for the advice mate, I shall browse all the search related topics :D
Cheers.
Matt
