xda11i guide to unlocking

Im really quite new to smartphones but ive been reading through the entire post for a simple quide to the unlocking my xda11i. I only discover this site a week ago.Can someone please tell me how to go about saving the unlocking tool to my devive. Thanks

After reading through all post ive finally done it.Yes folks ive unlock my xda11i with no problem.After discovering this site only a week ago ,ill definately be donating .Tried my T-mobile sim and it worked. Happy chappy

My 2i seems to have come with VERY old vers of radio and ROM - where's the place to upgrade em? Scoured the O2 site, nowt there, and I didn't have much luck on these forums (plus my internet connection kept dying on me) - you've obviously got more experience already than me on this, any pointers for a newb? :D

Hi, the Official ROM update is available from http://www.my-xda.com/xda2i.html just click software updates, you will have to enter your imei number, then you will have the updates.

There is also a modified 02 ROM of the the available ROM on 02, this is available from xda-developers website, its in uploads/alpine. This has the imate radio ver 1.03 otherwise it is standard.

looking at you current ROM ver, it is the latest you can currently get from 02 site, but as I said in previous post, there is the modified version on ftp.

I did not understand how you locked your Xda IIi. As I said I am not good at computers so you might have to speak English. Can you please post a reply or send me an email to ekin_tekbiyik@hotmail.com guiding me how to unlock my O2 XDA IIi. Or how dd you learn to unlocking it (in that week as you said) because I haven't found the entry. :( I will make a donation to the site if it works, rather than to O2. :D Thank you for any help. :P

This program unlocks your XDA IIi for use on any Network, not for the extended ROM unlocker.

try running the program on the pda rather then the pc

try right clicking on the link and save as, it must be run from the pda, and it takes about 5 mins somtimes and there are no on screen messages until its done.

I have this old XDA IIi Asia version.
If I download ROM Upgrade from O2 (original) UK version, and then I used this unlock tools, it works? Because as far as I know, UK version cannot be used in Asia.

Please, someone can clarify..

I must be thick, as i STILL cannot oipen this file anywhere.

My PC says 'Not a WIN32 application' so saved it on the SD card in the XDA IIi, but now get the message

"There is no appliction associated with "pda_all_unlock_v1.3". Rn the application first, then open this file from within the application"

Please someone help me, as I am now totally confused. Maybe I shoul;d take some computer lessons!

Try copying it from the SD card to the phone memory and then running it.

hunt out the older version unlocking tool i had this problem and had to use the older one, u can find it by hunting around the forum for the xda2i i think i found it via the wiki entry.

but as its been said it has to be run from the phone iteslf not the sd card.

Yes, the zip file really does work. Simply sign up as a registered user to this forum and then click on the .zip file. Save to PC. Unzip the file. Transfer file to XDA through activesync. Select file on XDA. Click on file and hey presto you have an unlocked XDA 2i. Brilliant. Thank you, you clever people.

May 9th 2009. Just used this programme to unlock my Xda11i purchased for £31 off ebay. Worked with no problem. Save to computer desktop. Attach pda via cradle, ( you don't need to Sync it ) and open pocket pc. Put file into documents and then take pda out of cradle. Open file explorer and tap on All unlock tap yes and let it do its job. You don't have to do anything. Make sure that the sim card you want to unlock from is in the phone.

Just found on holiday an xda11 but the keypad is saying 'unlock' , I have no hardware with it but want to use the program you mention (have already tried hard reset but it didn't work) - what cables etc will I need to purchase use the program? Thanks

Hi

You need to download the file 'pda_all_unlock-v1.3.zip' to your PC.

Unzip the file to extract 'pda_all_unlock-v1.3.exe'.

Sync up your XDA either via cable or cradle and transfer file to XDA through activesync. Altneratively, copy the file 'pda_all_unlock-v1.3.exe' to an SD card, and pop it in the PDA.

Use (Start/Programs) 'File Explorer' on your PDA to locate the file.

Run the file! That should be it. It has been a long time since I did this on my XDA IIi.
