Please, tell me. Is it worth to get it now? I saw O2 device the other day and I fell in love :) Looking at the posts here gave me the impression that BT is not very usable on it - static, short range? Also, no Voiceactiavtion over BT, let's say MS Voicecommand? Please, share your oppinions. I have to make my decission untill tomorrow.

TIA

the bluetooth is crap, the phone functions alright...

wait until the new devices come out with wm5.... it will be worth the wait.

I'd recommend you to wait for Universal or other device with WM5 as there would be no WM5 update for BlueAngel.

I recommend to wait for the new device, The PDA2K is performing well, but the bluetooth is very bad.

If you're going to spend money, spend it in a new device.

Just wait.

Well I have to say it...

BA hardware is CRAP!!

Once upon a time I owned a BA
- with a wobbly keyboard and screw missing on the right hand side....

This I swapped for a new one.....
- with a sd slot that would not read any SD cards

This I swapped for a new one.....
- with screen that had a high pitch sound when it was turned on.

This I swapped for a new one.....
- With a touch screen that refused to work after 2 days

And every time I have to swap the bugger I have to travel 250Km round trip to germany.

@MDAIIIUser

Man you have no luck with BA's :)

I am still happy with my BA not a single problem with it, i have it for about 10 months now and it works without a hardware problem. Maybe i am luckier than MDAIIIUser.

I have had my MDAIII since June and I am quite happy with it. It has its misbehaving moments. I have had to do 3 resets in that time only and only lost stuff the 1st time.

I had 2 at the beginning that needing replacing very quickly as they were duds but this one has been fine since day one. I think there are definately some sustandard ones out there.

I haven't bothered altering any of the techincal specs as it suits me fine - and until I find something I can't do that I need to upgrade for - I prefer not to take the risk of damaging it beyond repair.

I have bought a new cradle from ebay (an O2 one) as mine broke quite quickly. I have a fabulous red leather Peil Frama case, a motorola bluetooth headset and most of the time it is fine - apart from on the days when it can't find it (like today - arghhhh). It goes through periods of being fine and periods of being reliable. Once I have a connection its fine - but it can't always find it. The 2 duds I had at the beginning couldn't do it at all.

I have ordered a usb pen drive card reader so hopefully I will be able to make it compltely compatable with other peoples computers (like at college) and also a Bluetooth foldable keyboard for full size typing when away from home.

Thats about it really. I shall let everyone know how my new gadgets are.

same here - quite happy.

at first, i made a mistake of toying and customizing it to max and loading with tons of 3rd party software. The whole thing began to suffer.

Hard reset...

so now i have a pretty vanilla OS, NO registry tweaks (as far as i remember), with just a handful of apps (that i actually use). Been running great for months now.

the pro's are obvious, i wont mention them.

the cons:
BT - i stopped using my headset with blueangel ;)
wifi - idiotic 5 minute timeout, and automatic reconnection rarely works
memory management - kudos to Bill asshole and his gang
camera - don't bother indoors or in low light
battery - better buy extended one on ebay

considering u can get a used unit for like $400, i say it's a great deal given the features u get

i am pretty happy with my BA too.
I dont know, but, the BA starts behaving erractically when the battery level drops below 35%. It never wakes up from stand-by. when it does, it soft resets. I am using 2003SE
is anyone here experiencing the same issue.

I would rate it as "OK"
The keyboard slider has become loose over time for me, bluetooth is "OK", but then again I dont use it that often (Just to sync and sometimes for calls over a BT handsfree).

WM2003SE definately has problems - wait for a WM5 device.

I generally reset my phone once every couple of days because it gets stuck

Other than that, I am used to it. If I had money I would buy another one :p

I ould never go without my PDA2K
I admit the BT functions are crap. but, hey, I don't really need them

I had left my PDA2K for a JASJAR, then just recently tried a Treo 700W.

I thought WM5 was the way to go. I thought a newer model was the way to go. I thought that with the success of the original Treo, the combined minds of Palm and Microsoft would produce a great product. Boy was I WRONG!

I am back to my BA (WM2003SE) and I have realized that it does exactly what I need it to do...a PDA that can access my corporate email. I am back to using my Samsung A530 phone because it does exactly what I need it to do...work. IMHO PDA Phones currently suck as cell phones, but people use them because of the single device nirvana idea . Then bitching threads start because they spent a mint, were promissed a single device that does everything, but it just wasn't quite as good as they expected (or were told).

Someday, there will be a convergence device that will be a good cell phone, PDA, and media player. But for now, I'll stick with my BA, A530 and iPod.
