I have a WM5 Device trying to sync with outlook and am getting this Support Code:85010014 when I select the view status link in Activesync (v4).

AS4 allows me to sync favorites and notes, but not contacts, calendar, email, and tasks. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

I solved my ActiveSync problem with Error 85010014.

I also run Eudora and Incredimail Plugin for Outlook on both PCs, Work and Home. Both are on XP Pro SP2 and when I installed ActiveSync 4.1 on my work PC without issue, I decided to attack my Home PC Outlook installation to see if I could resolve the issue.

So, At home:

Putting Outlook in Offline mode did not solve the problem.

I uninstalled ActiveSync 4.0 and installed ActiveSync 4.1 - No difference.

I backed up Outlook via 3rd party program to grab account settings as well as my 2GB pst file then ran Help->Detect and Repair... - reboot, no difference.

I then ran Control Panel -> Add or remove Programs -> Office 2003 and chose to modify my installation by adding or removing components. I unchecked Outlook and updated it to remove Outlook from my Office 2003 suite. Then returned to this option and re-checked Outlook to add it back to my Office 2003 Suite, CD-Rom in hand but updating, it did not ask for the Office 2003 Install CD-Rom... - Rebooted and connected - Bingo NO 85010014 error!

Are you using Outlook 2003 in "Offline" mode? If so, try running Activesync while CONNECTED to your Exchange server... This worked for myself and possibly a few others here.

Good luck! Hopefully you won't have to re-install Outlook which seems to be the ultimate fix.

Just checked the original post date... hope the original poster fixed the issue.

No, I don't use exchange. I realy hate outlook compared to Eudora for my needs. Mail accounts are on standard Unix POP/SMTP Servers. Outlook is forced due to contacts integration on PDAs.

I solved the same problem in a different way - On ActiveSync in the File menu there is an option to Delete Mobile Device. I picked that, deleted the device and then re-established the partnership between the mobile device and the PC. Sync started working perfectly right away.
