I'm using a 2400mah battery. The battery life is a lot better but the life reporting leaves a lot to be desired if it's a big issue for you. I find the reported life runs down quickly, 100% to 24% in about 2 hours of heavy usage (wi-fi), but if you stop using the 2i it goes back up to 60% or so as if by magic. I'll get about 6 or 7 hours video playback with full brightness. Done a 4 hour journey with TT5 on battery with 40% left at the end of the day too.
My only complaint is the extra size, about twice the thickness of a standard battery, but there will always be drawbacks.

I found temporary solution for me - before buying 2400mA battery.
Turning down scren backlight and turning off unused GPRS helps a lot. Now entire day I can use my Qtek without troubles.

Please, post photo of the back of Qtek with this battery!

Does this fit inside the normal back case or does it come with a fatter one?

it is a 5 mm fatter one and replaces the back cover....

I am thinking of buying one but wonder if it really doubles the operational life of the Alpine (1300 x 2 = 2600). Does it? Or how much will it change?

Does this company sell/ship to UK residents? If so how long does delivery take. I have seen a decent metal case (with clear perspex front) which seems to be what I am looking for.

Hi Pug,
Just want to know if with the 2400 high capacity battery, does the unit still go into the standard leather case??

I have read somewhere here that it did indeed..

I have bought one (order processed but the battery did not come) but I still wonder if it really doubles the operational life of the Alpine (1300 x 2 = 2600). Does it? Or how much will it change? Any ideas?

I noticed that mdsbatteries.co.uk have them in stock. But they are £100 so I will wait to hear from you guys if they are worth the money  . And yes they do need a replacement back - it comes with 2 - a silver and a black.
Julius at MDS just gave me some superb service replacing a faulty laptop battery when he didn't have to.

that one is too way out in price.

and this one is gone out of shape with that Notre Dame style hunchback (too thick and i think this one is in 1700-2200 mAh range):

But the PdaDen one (2400 mAh-PH17B) is a lot better. If only it wasn't that thick (it destorts the shape of the device with that hunchback)...

We're using 4500 mAh batteries - thinner than the 2400s we previously had but still requires a (smaller) bulge pack.

The 2400 I bought fitted into the cradle charger fine. It's the same thickness as a standard battery at that point.

I honour the rules of this forum and refer to my post in the Off-Topic section. How come I can by a new battery for 4.44 that others sell for more than 100?
Cheers

I've got 4500mA battery from HighScreen.
Ordered from www.vobis.ru in Moscow.
Bulk white box and black back cover. It slightly thiker than the original, so I had problem with Krusell leather case. Solved by finding proper thing to make case full and holding it on top of the hot water... Now case is like original, but BIGGER and 2020i with 4500mA accu fits there exellently!

Wow! Now I have great machine!!!
