Anyone have any leads on sources of cases to fit the Wizard? The one that comes with the K-Jam look decent of first view, but since I'll probably want something nicer I figured I would get this thread started.

Well, an update on this, I picked up a Targus Small Camera case Model DCCS00 and while it is a bit loose front to back it fits nicely side to side. A bit bulky but functional and It is easy to insert/remove the device. Also it securely attaches to my belt so I don't have to worry about scraping it off on my office chair. It'll do until someone releases a 'made for' case. :)

I ordered and got this case for my wizard after it was recommended on another board. The guy said he found it at a mall in NY at a mobile phone accessory cart. I like it a lot. Fits perfect. The belt clip (although it isnt visible) has a built in swivel so you can wear it vertical / horizontal / or on an angle. I wear it at an angle and its so easy to place in pouch and pull out. I can also charge with the wizard in the case becuase it has a small opening in the bottom.

I just ordered an OEM blackberry 71xx slip case belt clip and Tre 6xx slip case from ebay.

I like to concept of slip case rather than attaching something on my belt.
I'll keep everyone posted here...

I wonder if the flip type PDAir case uses the same technique to keep the k-jam in place.

I prefer the not so bulky cases. using the case that came with Treo 600 atm and it fits perfectly. slightly tight but it fits in my jacket pocket a lot better than any other cases that I've tried.

I have decided to give BB 71xx pouch a try. I had to stretch it a bit in order to get my qtek a nice fitting.

I am also in a process of streching my treo 600 slip case with a pair of socks :D and will post some pictures tonight when I get home.
Does anyone have an IPOd 2/3rd Gen slip case? Can you please try and see if it'll fits nicely with your Wizard?

Just taken delivery of this case:
http://www.yourwirelesssource.com/shop/5/model/235388/accessory/245843/cat/31
(though from a uk supplier)
Fits nice and snug, and the slightly extra height of the case (about 5mm) can allow you to attach the handsfree kit to the bottom of the phone, son can be used without removing from the case (the voice dial button is also accessible, as is the power button).
A slight negative is that the sides/top corner still have the potential to be damaged on dropping, but I guess most type of slip cases leave some parts exposed.

For those using the WIZA100 variant of the Wizard...

Got this case this AM. It is for the dopod 838 or VPA Compact II. So far so good my only gripe is that the case doesn't allow access to the messaging and ie buttons [when closed] and it is kinda slippery [maybe use it in tandem with a neck strap or handstrap]

I heard something about Aluminium cases and low gsm signal..
Are you having that kind of experience on your ppc ;
I currently have the Htc Wizard/ qtek 9100 and i am looking for a case.
Probably i'll go for the leather one.

no signal problems for me so far been using it for almost a week now... of course signal strength is also determined by your network coverage as well not only your device

Hi
Just checked on the signal stregth, one room in my house has a very weak GSM signal for Vodaphone and when using the PDair case it drops by 1 bar.
Must be shielding

Does the aluminum case by PDair have a plastic screen cover to protect the screen like the Armor Case by Boxwave (www.boxwave.com)?

Sabesh mentioned velcro in his review of the PDAir case. Does that mean there is some 'sticky pad attachment' to be done. The case says it closes with magnets, so I can't figure out where the velcro comes in unless it's to secure the handset. if that means sticking something on to the handset then I'm not so keen. i need to be able to get the handset out easily to fit in my car kit.
TIA, Davebo.

from the pics of the case a plastic sheet goes across the top of the thumb board... it goes between the top sliding part the end of this plastic is velcro which is attached to the otherside of the device.

Yes, I could see the see through plastic (it can't be see through then can it). I just wondered why the mention of velcro when the case closes with magnets. Didn't realise the velcro attached the plastic. Seems a bit odd, but if it works...

Being able to see the pictures in Sabesh's review helps a lot. :?
Any views on whether the portrait or bookcase style is better ?
Thanks, DBo.

New 8125 owner here :) I just ordered this case:
http://www.noreve.com/product/Etui_cuir_Dopod_838_Tradition.html
It should arrive sometime this week and I will post pics and a review. I like the fact that the camera lense is covered when not in use, that you can remove the stud for the belt clip, and that there is no plastic over the keyboard. Coming from the BA, that was something I hated about most of the case options for it ;)

Hi there,
I kinda like the standard imate kjam case, but It is pretty limited (no compartment for SD) and provided limited protection.
That's why I'm considering one of these 2:
http://www.mobileplanet.com/product.asp?code=123697&asource=129137
or
http://www.mobileplanet.com/zoompic.asp?type=item&code=123705
Can anyone confirm any of these will fit nicely my wizard?
Cheers,
Hal

Has anyone seen a Silicon case for the Wizard, K-Jam, XDA Mini Pro S etc.??
I searched one on ebay, but from the pictures, it doesn't look like it fits the wizard!!!

go to boxwave.com and put in a request for them to make a flexiskin for the wizard. if they get enough requests the will make one.

The best has to be the Krusell:
See http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=37508
or for the wizard case shootout:

Well my case finally arrived on Friday after being hung up in customs  and it's quite nice. It is secured with a strap in the same way as the Piel Frama case. The leather is good quality, I would say that it is equal in quality to EB and Krussel, but falls short of super premium cases like Vaja and Piel Frama. The workmanship is excellent, perfect stitching, nice lining and unobtrusive logo (I hate the big Krussel logo).
My only gripe is about the SD storage slots in the cover. They're SD and not miniSD. :? The device takes miniSD so why have full sized SD slots in the case when we can't use full sized SD?
I'll post a few pics soon, baby is teething and fussy so I haven't had a lot of spare time lately ;) There are a few in the case shootout thread above, mine is the same except it is black instead of silver leather.

Go to boxwave.com and make a request. They claim that if they get enough requests they release the product. Go to the link at the bottom to request a product for a device and then make sure "Flexiskin" is checked. It is probably a good idea to mention all the Wizard's aliases (MDA Vario, Qtek 9100, I-mate K-jam) so they see it is a device in alot of user's hands. I owned one of these for my Treo and it was outstanding.

They don't seem to care about the Wizard anymore...
What I can't understand: why they have a silicon case for the Cingular version (WIZA100) but not for the WIZA200 - this model is the more popular one with much higher sales figures!?

I liked the i-Mate K-JAM case that came with my device apart from the bulky clip. I found a Samsonite Samoa camera case that fits the phone perfectly and has a couple of storage puches for SD cards. It only cost 9 Euros too which was great. I looked on Amazon.com and can't find it so they may only be available in Europe.

www.wirelessground.com
has a sliding case for wizards. mine is an MDA tmobile.
It is bsicaly a faceplate and a backplate that allowes the keyboard/screen to slide. the plastic is thick enough to keep it protected from dammage, as well as keeps you from accidentaly pressing buttons. Also helps keep the camera lens from getting scratched.
I'm very happy with it. ine thing that became a problem was that the reset button is covered up; and this thing is a bitch to remove... especialy the top plate.
other than that i like it.
here is the direct link to the clear one. i didnt see any black this time, but they have a carbonfibre and hot pink there as well :)
