How to make SX56 work in India?

Hi All,

I have an unlocked SX56 device on which I have installed xda-dev ROM w/ WM2003SE (version 4.20.0) and is working properly here in USA on Cingular.

I recently went to India and hoped that it would automatically work there on band 900 but to my surprise it didn't. :( I tried a local simcard there but it always said no service.

I did some research and found out about bandswitch tool.
I copied it on to the device but when I click it shows ERROR for the current band and nothing happens when I click on either 900 or 900/1800 or 1900.

I am going to India again in few weeks and am wondering if there's something else I can do to make it work?

Hey bud!

Unfortunately... you will have to get into the bootloader and manually switch bands.
It will work.

Also which service provider did you use when you were in India? and in what location?

Lemme know if you face any issues.
