I can't understand.
Tke Jasjar rom on the Imate club site is the one coming with the original device from factory or an updated rom?
I have installed
Radio 1.03.00
Extended rom 1.12.38
must I upgrade or just wait for the next rom?
thanks

I have upgraded to this new ROM without problems.

Rumor has it that the Arabic version was put up first to fix specific problems but WWE users downloaded and install it by mistake. So they had to post a WWE version to allow those users to restore a WWE working version.
This version is later than my factory shipped version and now includes Telco local customisation rather than downloading a separate CAB file and running it later.
A big note is that this will Hard Reset your device loosing ALL of your software and settings. Not normally a problem but there is NO BACKUP facility for WM2005 yet! No Sprite, ActiveSync or other option.
An other big note is that there is yet LESS room left for your own programs. I have only 22MB left after the Hard Reset! Previous ROM left around 30MB for your programs. We need a utility to remove crap out of the ExtROM so we have more space for applications we actually use!
I consider Bubble Breaker, i-mate Backgamon and Solitaire a waste of precious ExtROM space - download them to External Storage SD Card as an option but don't put them where they can't be deleted or moved!

Imate support told me that there are changes only in the extended rom and radio(althought i had upgraded radio few days ago). the change in the OS Version is only to differentiate between english and arabian versions......

ok. thanks.
So not really an upgrade, just a small enhancement in last factory ship rom.
A question: pda2k needed to be connected to power supply while upgrading rom.
This is impossible with JasJar which ha only usb connection or charging connection.
So the upgrade works with the only usb connection, without power supply?

with usb20, when you connect your jasjar to your pc the battery is charging.....

Here is the Skype CAB file extracted from Extended_ROM:
Site won't let me upload this file! FTP process won't see upload in FTP upload directory. The extension is valid etc. Admin, Why?
ftp://xda:xda@xda-developers.com/Uploads/Universal/Extended%20ROMs/SkypeCABfile.zip
Skype CAB file as found in iMate Jasjar WWE 11353 137 10301 Extended ROM

When I unsinstalled the extended rom extras such as the antivirus, the backgammon, and yes the skype, or any one of them, it appeared to screw up my USB connection, has anybody else tried just uninstalling these items, they appear in the add remove programs section.
In the end I just moved the program files components to my SD card and waited to see what would happen, this method worked much better, thought I have been unable to clear out the registry and not sure what other system files are left behind.
I would also like to know how some of the extra's can be avoided so as to save extra space. Can the extended ROM be hacked and the bits extracted prior to upgrading?
