What can I remove from Startup?

Hey there guys and gals.

I've attached a screenshot of my Blue Angel (running 2.04). It's a Telecom CDMA. I am trying to make it run faster and also more stable if possible. It's such a buggy phone. Upgrading has helped a bit, but yea, it's definately not really made to be a proper phone in my view.

I was just wondering if you guys with much more experiance with me could help me figure out what each of these startup shortcuts does and which ones (if any) I can remove? I don't want stuff starting if I don't need it, but at the same time I want to be careful not to delete things if I don't know what they do.

Oh as a side note, the full name of the bottom link is TextMessageRetry... I'm smart enough to figure I need that one!

Anyway, any help you guys can give me would be great!

Commloader.exe is an exe put there by PocketController by SOTI.

You can remove it if you dont use LAN/TCP connection. Pocket Controller will still work on standard Activesync.

I experienced it slowed down my device A LOT, so I removed it.

Take care to backup it if you dont want to reinstall pocketcontroller in case you need it back.

To remove it you first need to rename it as commloader.noexe (or whatever ghost extension you want), soft reset and then you can delete/move.

Hi all...

yes this is an interesting one. I have an spv m2000 on orange and have the following in startup. Can someone advise or point me in the direction as to where i can found out what these files do? I am pretty sure some of these files can be safely removed from startup so to improve the performance of my phone but I am not sure which ones?

1: if you dont use the permanent save, you can remove the four "*persavestar" entries (t=tasks,c=calendar and so on)
2: if you dont need (or like) the callerid you can remove the "IA_CID_StartUp " or the "IA_Caller_ID" depending on your release.
3:stk: simtoolkit; if you dont use it you can remove it
4:clearnotify *should* be the free tol from scarybear, cleaning and duplicated notifications, but I am not 100% sure.
5:wisbaradv is wisbar advance on reboot
6:shutxp is a utility to shut down your ppc
