View Full Version : Rom Kitchen and unix

I have aquired a couple of xdas that were damaged and mad a complete one out of the part adn would like to have a play around with the rom kitchen.

However i dont have a unix machine, is there any way i can get the rom kitchen to run under a pc, i have microsoft virtual pc but it wont load any unix or linux stuff (dont know why)

I think Linux is required. (Never tried ist myself under Windows). There should be to much work to get it running under windows (Adapting scripts, tools, ....)

So you should be able to instal a standard Linux Debian, Suse, Redhat in your virtual PC and then use this virtual PC for ROMkitchen. There is a BAsic ste on the ftp you can use for....

:( good day Lumpistefan just wanna ask a couple of questions... i tried your rom kitchen and cooked up my own rom.. when i upgraded my rom there was an error message which says that the rom upgrade is incompatible.... i have a PW10B1. Thanks.

Normally it shloud work....

Take a look at the Wiki http://wiki.xda-developers.com/ There is a little tool, called AdaptROM. Search for it and use it......

can you let me know the configuration of the pc that you run the rom kitchen on. I would like to set p my own kitchen but only have widows pcs and not unix ones. Any help would be great.

Think you need a unix box.
