I upgraded to WM5, but now I just have the stripes as my boot logo.
Is it possible to change these to something else ?
Tried various bootlogo changers, none seem to work.

Have you tried searching the forum? I think there has to be 10 threads that says that's impossible so far...

yes, I did.
I found this, which seems to indicate it might be possible:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=29897&highlight=wm5+boot+logo
I found this which says it is a program to do it on a himalaya:

(see end)
So that is why I posted. I am a net veteran and know to look before I ask thankyou very much.

No, they don't indicate any such thing. As of yet there's nothing that even whispers about the possibility of changing the boot image on this trial run of a WM5 version. The bootloader actually isn't even exclusive for the unit, if I remember correctly it has references to at least 3-4 other models. There are a few ideas, but nothing that has come to anything more.

sorry, it's made 4 himalaya with wm5, don't know if it works with other devices.
This is in reference to the file "BstardWM5Splash.cab" that he posted on the same thread - the thread is entitled "CHANGING MDA III BOOT IMAGES TO YOUR LIKING"
Now unfortunately this guy then goes on to say that this file is for a Himalaya, but the post two after that by Mardanpet seems to be saying it works on his XDA IIs. I cannot tell who he is saying it worked to though.
So Bstard is saying for SURE he can do it on WM5 on a Himalaya.
And Mardanpet APPEARS to be saying it can be done on a BA.

Well it works for BlueAngels, but under wm2003,

So still nothing that works with BA under WM5. Really, isn't there more important stuff to get in? A screen you see maybe once or twice a week (at least that's about how often I see it with WM5 - I saw it a lot more with WM2003). Who cares?

I see it daily. I have to change SIMs :P
Besides, with my luck, something will happen to my phone again and I will have to send it off to O2 for repair.
Last time I did that, I had a cooked imate rom but had uploaded an O2 startup screen, so they didn't spot that it was a different OS and they repaired it under warranty (despite the fact that I had voided it by replacing the OS)
If they see the stripes I am screwed. They will flag an issue on that for sure !

Yey, wm2005 is stable. but due all that testing it becomes quite irritatable that striped screen.
BUT, i noticed, that when you insert owner info info in the device, and at the options when turned on are on.
the windows mobile screen pops up after the rom version,
At least a bit better then 20sec those lines on my screen.
 i wished we could change that second screen

I may be inclined to go with that if it didn't spam me with my details every time I turned the screen on.
At boot is good enough for owner info - it is on the today screen anyway.
well spotted though pimbo :)
