O2 XDAII keeps resetting after unlock

Lucky enough to be given a no-longer-used O2 XDAII, I unlocked it using the original boot-loader unlock (radio too old for the all-in-one solution). Now it runs fine with no SIM inserted, but when my Vodafone SIM's in, although it will make and receive calls, web via GPRS etc, it keeps resetting, without any visible error. It can stay up sometimes for as long as 10 minutes, but sometimes it's much shorter.

I'm considering updating to 1.72.181 to see if that helps, but if anyone has any suggestions, I would be very grateful.

Well - all sorted by 1.72181, so I'm one happy bunny now! :D

And added on Bluetooth tools, so ActiveSync now awesome!
