Hi all,

I got my Exec in the mail this morning (woor hoo!) :P

Its been on all day, connected to me PC as the manual states 'Batteries are shipped partially charged...'

When I connected it up initially it showed 100% battery, and has been gradually degrading over the day (6 1/2 hrs) down to 79%. Is this normal? Is it just the new batter just being 'worn in'? or cole it sugged a problem?

any advice/experiences gratefully received.

cheers

Paul

My new Exec really romps through its battery, and I've discovered (2nd day of ownership today) that charging from USB of PC really isn't a good substitute for the mains charger. It charges very very slowly from USB but nice and rapidly from the mains.

Went to bed last night with battery at 22%. Woke up this morning with it at 13%!!! :shock:
So I tested it today until the battery was completely flat, and it died. The good news, though, is that it lost no data! :D

The manual says that the battery won't achieve full capacity until after several full-charge/complete-discharge cycles, so I'm doing that now... :(

it seems that you're getting some long life. mine is flat in the evening considering:
* half an hour LiveTV
* half an hour video calls
* 20 minutes call
* light use of internet / emails
* being in an UMTS area 100%

what's your normal use ?

I had exactly the same problem. It was also occurring when charging in the car which was a worry as I eventually want to run GPS which obviously needs the Exec to be on 100% of the time.

It was suggested that I turn the brightness down to 75% even on mains (still plenty bright enough) and also let the Exec run totally flat, then recharge it up to 100% a few times. Iv'e done it and don’t get me wrong, charging from the mains is still 5 times faster than through the laptop or car charger but at least it is now gains charge rather than loosing it, even with the screen on 100% of the time.

Ive had my Exec for 2 days know and get about a day and a half out of it at a go.
Having said that i have been using all of the features alot and installing stuff and modifying as well as having on vibrate alert so i reckon its about right.
Will probably take a god couple of charges to condition the battery anyway.

Hi Decebal

Whats LiveTV?

Well, I've had it for 24 hrs now.

Yesterday it continued to discharge slowly when connected to the PC. I connected it up to the mains charger all night and when I got up this morning the solid orange status led had changed to solid green. On getting into work (90min travel) it was down to 97%.

Its been on the PC power now for 2+ hours and is back up to a steady 100%.

cheers
