Hi All,

Received my XDA Exec yesterday and have been having a good read through this forum for hints and tips.

The first thing I did was play with the Exec in full blown 02 mode, noting how slow it was etc. etc. The good thing about doing that is when I switched to Corporate mode, I was amazed at how much faster it was!

Anyways, what I'm looking to do is to show what phone network i'm using in the Today screen.. Is it possible to do this from Corp. mode ?

The other thing I'd like to know if its possible, is on my Nokia 7610 it shows the cell information, or the Area code that i'm in. It's not life or death, but if it can be done i'd appreciate knowing how.. :)

Other than that i'm mightily impressed with this pda/phone.. speed, size, quality. I guess as I've never used a PDA before, I don't know what i'm missing.. ;)

cheers

Have a look at Hudson IP Dashboard.

It displays the name of the network you are connected to and the signal strengh as a percentage. Very useful indeed.

I didn't know it did this until I installed it on my Exec.

I'd always just used it for counting GPRS data on my iPAQ.

Here it is:
Start>Settings>Phone>More>

Change Language to english and enable Broadcast Channels

Add any of the word like "Cell"

Then say no of Channels as "50"(w/o inverted commas)

You will start receiving SMS from that particular Cell where yr phone is currently logged...

Call me dumb, but what exactly does the broadcast channels do?

I tried changing the settings but nothing happened?

Add me to that "dumb" list, because I couldn't see what it did either.. :D

The Hudson IP dashboard is quite good though. It shows the network i'm connected to, but I didn't have a lot of luck with it showing bandwidth reading of my wireless connection. Can't have it all I suppose.. ;)

Thanks for the tips though!
