Hi all, I have the xda exec on O2 I have used the personal install but find it slow and the refresh rates on the screen are poor.
I have tomtom 5.1 installed and a few spb programs etc. If I choose the Corporate install by going to Start > Programs> Install Type and choosing Corporate, will I have to install these programs again?
What are the advantages of the Corporate install? and is there a comparison sheet for the basic, corporate and personal installs?
I've also noticed talk of the O2 active program, and this seems to affect the speed of operation, what is it and what does it do?
Many thanks in advance Lee

I have the basic install, it is pretty similar to the corporate install (which needs a password - 0506) but it includes all the 3g/GPRS/MMS settings. The Personal install sucks big time, you really would have hoped that o2 would have realised by now what a massive piece of shit o2 active really is!

To answer your questions, if you got to Install type and select coroprate, no you will not have to reinstall your programs as far as i am aware. O2 Active is a piece of software that is supposed to make your phone more useable for o2 services, but in reality it hogs resources and freezes your device regularly!

Thank you for your replies, well I took the plunge and tried the corporate install. well what a difference. its much smoother and TT5.1 is a dream. I actually perfer the today page as well far less clutter. Might even be tempted to try the basic install; just out of curiosity.
I'm amazed at O2 for releasing an excellent XDA with bad software design; very amatuerish, they obviously didn't consider what the user wanted.
Anyway enough negative statements. Are there any must have programs I should be aware of?
All the best Lee

For corporate install to really work, it must either be selected when you first start device, or after a hard reset.
Switching on the fly is not really corporate mode. Basic is not a bad comprimise. In personal I played with the extra bits, but still decided on corporate.

Oh right, thanks for the update.
Will do a hard reset and install corp from there, its no great deal to install some of the programs again, I'd rather have better performance.
Interesting note nabil2000 left on the 'is your exec slow' post re: the new improved rom that will be available soon.
best regards Lee

If I do a corp install what do I need to do to get 3G, GPRA etc working on O2?
Thanks
