This rom is only for Alpine phones, thats the 2i, 2020i etc.

As soon as my broadband is working again (tomorrow hopefully) I'll post the O2 162 rom with the radio 1.04 update for the UK users and anyone else who wants it.

If you want to try this update on the 2i you will need to extract the files from the installer and locate a copy of maupgradeut_noid.exe and use that instead of the included installer. There are better instructions elsewhere on this site, just do a search for my name, I'll be in amongst it all somewhere.

I have just posted the ROM upgrade on the ftp site, the only change is the radio from 1.03 to 1.04. It seems to give a better signal strength than version 1.03 on my phone anyway.

Here's the link to download the O2 version I just combined :)

(Edited to working link:)

ftp://xda:xda@ftp.xda-developers.com/Uploads/Alpine/Modified%20XDA_IIi_Upgrade_v1.11.162_Radio_1.04.ra r

1: Backup your contacts/device to Storage, Storage Card or PC. If you are using Ext Rom 1.11.162 now you can use full device backup to restore at the end to save you re-installing all your programs later.

2: Extract the ROM using Winrar to a folder of your choice.

3: Run MaUpgradeUT_Noid.exe. The install will fail, don't worry, just run it again without touching the phone.

4: When the upgrade has finished, do a hard reset by pressing the power button and reset button at the same time.

5: Install any programs and any data you backed up during step 1.

Good luck.

@ Clustered

When you say it goes back to the old rom do you mean that the Radio rom is regerted back to 1.03 or that your extended rom goes back to 192 or whichever you are using?

Sprite backup should not revert the radio rom back to 1.03 as it should only do the file system of your device.

As far as the extended ROM version, all it is there for is to indicate the "update" status of the extended ROM and what software is installed in it. An asian rom may have a higher rom version but may be no newer or better than the european 162 rom. You're talking about comparing hedgehogs to wibbles, completely arbitary. As soon as you cook the extended ROM like I have it is completely meaningless anyway as the version number is no longer valid.
If you wish to change the version number yourself, use a registry editor and go to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\3RDVERSION and change the MSYSTEM value to whatever you like.

If I have the wrong end of the stick, I apologise otherwise I hope this helps.

Also when using in the car on handsfree the other person can hear his voice echoing as they speak. Any ideas????

I'm using XDA IIi and device id is PH10C.

I'm affraid there will be a problem for my local operator "Maxis".

@ ramnkc

To be honest I can't see a problem with this ROM working with your current operator. I'm pretty sure that others from your neck of the woods are using the ROM with no problems. The biggest problem you would have is that it wouldn't load all your GPRS, WAP, MMS, etc settings as it is a UK rom.

Make sure you can get hold of these settings off your current provider before you perform the upgrade. Or as an alternative, extract your current ROM and reload it back onto your phone using SD card.

ramnkc

thanks for the reply !
Well i guess i gonna wait for the official release coz so far i'm happy with it. Apart of the constant SD Card data missing after playback mid, mp3 or what ever music files from SD Card.
And i finally found out that it cause by SBP pocketplus which had an option to close all application once you tab on X. Once i turn that option off in pocket plus so far problem free.

Guys/gals out there have this problem ?

Upgrading it now.

PS: I think that this WWE_Sonofon_11100_165_10400_Ship ExtRom is very similar to the XDA_IIi_Upgrade_v1.11.162 ExtRom. Just it doesn't have the O2 Crap and Music Player and its Tao java thing.. :) I don't know why they named it a number more than 162 and less than 169 :):):)

Edit: They have Antivirus, GPRS settings, Today Skin, Some tones...

pug
1st November 2005, 01:54 PM
There are a lot of differences between the two.

The Sonofon ROM has all the same HTC patches and SMS clients that the O2 ROM has but thats where the similarities end. It does seem that O2 are the only people who seem to want to fill the extended ROMs with rubbish and unstable programs.

As far as the Extended ROM versions go, they are there just to indicate which version it is. The Asian 1.11.192 may not be more up to date than the UK 1.11.162, even though it's a higher number. It just gives the status of the ROM and what's installed on it. As soon as you cook the ROM too, any version numbers become null and void.

The Sonofon ROM had Bullguard antivirus or whatever it is. All the customisation is intended for the Danish market so all the MMS, GPRS etc won't work in the UK without all the settings being wiped and replaced with UK settings. The only things most users will benefit from on the Sonofon ROM are the radio stack and the bullguard (if you still want to pay for it?).

This is the reason why I mixed the radio stack with the O2 ROM, for anyone not in Denmark. If you do a corporate install on the Modified O2 ROM then you don't get the O2 crap.

Now I have found a program by BAL666, I shall post a modified ROM without all the O2 rubbish in it.

Thankyou so much PUG. You are a star! :D

Just wondering, is there a direct link to download the LATEST ROM from O2 UK (1.11.169 WWE) and the Radio version 1.04.00 ??

I am not that sufficient in the extracting ect buisiness, so I would (and I am sure many other people would) be VERY grateful if someone can post a link to the 1.11.169 O2 UK ROM + 1.04 Radio.

Hi,

Great work on the latest Upgrade. I upgraded with the O2 Rom because the other gave me an Country ID error. Is there a workaround for this issue or is this a hardware matter? Anyway i was wondering if anybody knows of a non branded (by telecom provider) upgrade to the latest level?

@fireball2K
The radio ROM is non dependent from the rest of any Upgrade or language.
So I'm using XDAII with German O2 and latest Radio ROM while my XDAIIi has the O2 WWE Installation and I upgraded only the Radio Rom from 1.03 to 1.04.
So to answer your question: yes, it's possible to upgrade only the Radio ROM.
BUT: be aware, even just upgrading the Radio ROM, all your stored data as well as all settings will be lost ! So a good idea will be to make a backup or at least just write down all your settings.

Hope this helps you

Best regards
Chuck

@Sonelamer

1. Step: get the Asian ROM
2. : unzip the package. Usually you need WINRAR to unzip this .exe file (if got as .exe)
3. : delete the RUU.dll + RUU.conf + Radio_.nbf files
4 Start the MaUpgradeUt.exe
The upgrade procedure will now install only the Extended ROM and the CE Image leaving the Radio ROM untouched.

I think that's all.

Good Luck

Sorry for the late answer, I got the flu and am laying down.

Sounds like you have a little mess around.
The ROM you mentioned above "ftp://xda:xda@ftp.xda-developers.com/Uploads/Alpine/O2AlpineRoms/Asia Roms/Extended ROM/1.11.923.rar"

is nothing but the extracted content of the extended ROM, not the complete upgrade/installation of CE, ExtROM and Radio ROM.
It's used to make customized extended ROM's as figured out by bal666 within the Topic "Tool to create custom Ext roms for Alpine"

So: where did you find the folder you wrote "MaUpgradeUt.exe is in the radio 1.04 folder" ??

As you agreed to be a newbie I would also surf around this forum as there are (quite) all questions already posted and answered regarding ROM upgrading.

Just an idea.

Thanks for the support everyone, but I didn't read dcoelho's comment literally. There are people out there who don't have the same grasp of the english language that we do, as a result they will use words that aren't appropriate. They aren't intended to be as harsh as they sound, that's the way it is, none of us are perfect. All that can be said is point these things out nicely as there are people still learning english.

On the other hand, if people do have a good grasp of the language, watch how you talk to people, it just winds them up and people then think you are a ******.

Anyway,preaching over.

There will be a rom with all the O2 shite stripped out within the next hour or so now I have my computer up and running properly now. :D

Wesone,

Before I start a small disclaimer :)
USE OF THIS INFORMATION IS AT YOUR OWN RISK
I would advise making sure you have a backup of the original files so that they can be restored if something goes wrong.
I've put this up here as I figured people might just happen on the information and I don't want to catch fall out if I say something that is wrong here. I am still testing and playing around with the XDA2i Rom builds so none of this is by any means definitive. Also, the work I am doing involves installing a custom application on a device so I am disabling a lot of the standard functionality (this means I am less concerned over some of the Cabs than other people might be).

You can remove all of the Cab files from the list if you wish.
This will leave you with a completely blank install and there may be items that fix issues with the device that you have removed so I would not advise this.

As for the list of files:
EXEC:\Extended_ROM\TPDisable.exe
Disables the touch screen

CAB: \Extended_ROM\BA_cm_rm_map_o2_v3.CAB
Not sure but I have removed this

CAB: \Extended_ROM\BackpackDriver.sa.CAB
Not sure. I have left this in the Rom build

CAB: \Extended_ROM\Caller_ID_Alpine_Generic_WWE_RC16.CA B
I would assume this installs caller id. Since I dont use this I have removed it

CAB: \Extended_ROM\CV2.41.386_wwe.CAB
No idea. Removed
Found it is the clearview pdf & ppt viewer

CAB: \Extended_ROM\Delete_shortcut.sa.CAB
I would assume this deletes a shortcut somewhere on the device. Since I have my own tool for file manipulation in the Rom build I have removed this one.

CAB: \Extended_ROM\SmartDialing_Alpine_Generic_WWE_RC13 .CAB
Not sure what smart dialling is but I have left it on the Rom

CAB: \Extended_ROM\PhonePad_Alpine_Generic_WWE_RC11.CAB
Not sure. I have deleted this one though

CAB:
\Extended_ROM\CAB-TaoJava-10.1.4.127-Alpine-O2Music-ENU-01Apr05-MMP1051-v101.CAB
Installs Java music stuff? Removed as I am not using music or java

CAB: \Extended_ROM\O2UK_removeACCEPT_12212004.CAB
No idea. Removed as it sounds odd

CAB: \Extended_ROM\VideoMMSB22.sa.CAB
I am not using video so I removed this

CAB: \Extended_ROM\O2UK_PIE_homepage.sa.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\O2UK_Regional_TimeZone.sa.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\O2UK_RingTone.sa.CAB
I have removed all of the O2 files as I have no interest in them

CAB: \Extended_ROM\Patch_Camera_9650.sa.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\Patch_Eraphone.sa.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\Patch_Update_SIM_Mgr_2.2.1.0.sa.CAB
I have left all of the patch files as they could be important

CAB: \Extended_ROM\Alpine_SMS05272005.sa.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\PressKey.sa.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\wap.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\Certificate.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\version.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\IPV4_132.sa.CAB
Unsure. Left in the Rom

EXEC:\Extended_ROM\TPEnable.exe
Enables the touch screen. Very important if TPDisable has been fired!

CAB: \Extended_ROM\v36024_install.ARM.CAB
I have removed this since I do not want the O2 settings installed. If you remove this then you should bear in mind that the device will not soft reset at the end of the install ("RST: Reset" can achieve this though). You should also bear in mind that the connection settings will almost certainly need sorting out if this line is omitted.

My selections as to what I have left in the Rom and taken out are somewhat arbitrary but if it helps you in any way then feel free to take a look.

Graham.
this is what i got so far from gbird!
but what is the cab file i can remove for the working of the MMS?

thanks in advance

pug
16th November 2005, 03:29 PM
o2uk_removeaccept deals with mms.

In addition, most of the smaller cab files are just registry entries which can be combined. This will reduce 500kb down to about 200kb. Might be handy if you are short of space.

The one that starts cv is clearvue powerpoint and acrobat reader.
Version is a registry entry which sets the extended rom version in device info.

Any others I will let you all know later.

pug
16th November 2005, 04:23 PM
EXEC:\Extended_ROM\TPDisable.exe
Disables the touch screen - if you are customising your rom, DELETE THIS. If the cab files you add are "not designed for this version and may not display correctly", it will halt the install process of all other files and you will need to soft reset your 2i to continue, without being able to install any other cabs onto your 2i. - I deleted it

CAB: \Extended_ROM\BA_cm_rm_map_o2_v3.CAB
O2 wap information. - I deleted it

CAB: \Extended_ROM\BackpackDriver.sa.CAB

@dcoelho

Don't worry about it, wasn't offended, just a little taken aback until I read it a second time, no harm done.

@wesone

The wap push settings are an O2 thing. You should be able do delete them without affecting the operation of wap at all. I have and found no problems yet. The only possibility is it may affect MMS, which I don't use.

I'll get it uploaded for yo but it may take a day or two, All those files are on another hard disc which a friend has borrowed off me. The other option available is to use the tool at the beginning of another post, http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=31106 , and extract them from one of the genuine ROMs. The instructions are all in the thread.

It may be quicker to be honest.

Will advise when they've been posted.

Thanks guys - upgraded radio to 1.04 on top of the latest official O2 ROM (169) and all is well.

Starting to find my confidence in "adapting" my XDA IIi and slowly realising it's not a phone (O2 should be done on trades description) but actually a part finished kit - which I am slowly getting to work properly with a lot of help from this forum.

Many thanks.

Guys pls help, after i have updated the to the latest ROM as mention in the earlier post.

I tried to restore the backup files by MS Active Sync at the tools-> backup/restore, and at the end of the restoration it prompt a message saying that these files (a big list including contact database) is not able to restore.

I got everything restored such as interface software and so on. But for some software it is not working fine since some .dll files is not restorable for some reason.

Plus, i lost all my contacts and schedule, how am i suppose to restore it back effectively?

What have i done wrong? Why is it that i'm not able to restore when i upgraded my ROM?

This rom is only for Alpine phones, thats the 2i, 2020i etc.

As soon as my broadband is working again (tomorrow hopefully) I'll post the O2 162 rom with the radio 1.04 update for the UK users and anyone else who wants it.

If you want to try this update on the 2i you will need to extract the files from the installer and locate a copy of maupgradeut_noid.exe and use that instead of the included installer. There are better instructions elsewhere on this site, just do a search for my name, I'll be in amongst it all somewhere.

Special thank for you :D

Here's the link to download the O2 version I just combined :)

ftp://xda:xda@ftp.xda-developers.com/Uploads/Alpine/O2AlpineRoms/Modified_XDA_IIi_Upgrade_v1.11.162_Radio_1.04.rar

Good luck.

How do I get the link you provided above? I could never get to it. I get "Page Not found" error every time I click on the link. HELP!

To be honest, if you don't plan on using the Blackberry component then it's not worth upgrading to the 1.11.170 ROM.

If you look at the beginning of this thread then you will find a link to download the 1.11.162 ROM with the 1.04 Radio which as far as I can tell most people find stable. I've also read somewhere that O2 are likely to be withdrawing the 1.11.170 ROM because of stability issues.

If you look at the thread below then wou will find a ROM based on the 1.11.162 ROM but with all the O2 crap stripped out of it. This is stable and doesn't have the O2UI or the TAO Music stuff installed. I think I left all the other programs for MMS etc in there...... any one help on this, I've done so many ROMs lately I can't remember.

Hey all,
I'm a little new to this whole thing. I've downloaded Pug's ROM and ran the upgrade tool. How long is this thing supposed to take? It's been sat on "Checking information on your device" for some time now...

Also, when it said "Your device will appear to be out of network coverage" the XDA IIi appeared to just turn itself off, activesync disappeared and I got windows saying it had discovered a new device...

I'm expecting it to fail, so I can run the upgrader again like it says in the readme and on the site.
so...

have a I just toasted my phone?

Best,
D

pug
23rd December 2005, 11:52 PM
No, if it takes more than about 5 minutes to "check device info", that is not the screens with the progress bar, use task manager to stop the maupgradenoid.exe and just run it again. Once it is finished, its a case of restoing your contacts and calander etc.

You would be better with the stripped one, you just need to find the GPRS settings for your network.

They're essentialy the same ROM but the stripped one has all the useless O2 crap removed from it.

So long as you back upyour contacts and everything first, just restore a different ROM and then your files.

Most people here managed to do it no problems so you shouldn't have any.

Must be a setting somewhere as I'm using the stripped ROM as a base with no problems at all. Not trying to fob you off but it's one of those things, I can't really help from here as I can't see your settings. Sorry.

Dear Pug and our folks,

first of all, I'd like to say my great thanks to you Pug.

I've downloaded Alpine_Ext-1.11.162_Radio-1.04_O2stuffstripped.rar from your link and upgraded my XDAIIi over 4 times, each time I changed radio.nbf from version 1.00.00 to ver 1.00.04 but none of them give me the correct signal from network .

I also tried original rom 1.11.169 from my-xdaIIi.com with radio_1.00.00. However, my SIGNAL is still unable to register, even I set up manual selection.

Please, give me some advices or some potential files to fix my trouble.

Thank you in advance!
Thandieu

P.S my support network is Vietnam MOBIFONE
now my device info is:
Rom version: 1.11.00 WWE
Rom date: 01/27/05

I have tried the offcial O2 Rom update Xda_IIi_Upgrade_v111169 but this seemed to leave thrtadio at ver 1.00 - tried the radio ver 1.06 but got error - country error - tried running it again as suggested here but no dice
Finally tried installing Modified XDA_IIi_Upgrade_v1.11.162_Radio_1.04.rar using MaUpgradeUt_noID - this fails with Country code error every time whether you leave the XDA2i in usb cradle or hard reset it - the end result is I have ROM 1.11WWE ext Rom 1.11.169 WWE but no GSM and no radio therefore no phone

OK have sorted it
I didn't appreciate that rar files were compressed so I took
Modified XDA_IIi_Upgrade_v1.11.162_Radio_1.04 and unzipped it using power arc into a new folder and used MaUpgradeUt_noID pluss the dll's
RUU.dll and ui.dll
it worked fine and I am now back in operation
Thanks for all who provided these Rom updates - seems fine

@ Fox 2

There are several ROMs that are available for download from the FTP site.

Most have the Radio 1.04 update which provides a better more reliable signal, at least most have found it.

Some have the O2 stuff removed and some have it in. There are also genuine ROMs available with the Radio 1.00.

They are all available here:

ftp://xda:xda@ftp.xda-developers.com/Uploads/Alpine/

Hope this helps.

What if you have already installed 169 from O2? Using the 162s with 1.04 radio leaves you with a 169/104 combination that I have found very unreliable and crashes a lot.

It there a way to downgrade flashes?

pug
28th January 2006, 02:02 PM
@ Seahorse

If you install a 162 ROM over a 169 ROM, the 162 will replace the 169.

If this hasn't happened then the installer files are corrupt.

The ROMs aren't perfect, they can still be unstable. It all depends on what other software you install. At the end of the day the operating software is made by M$.

there's only one way to find out. The better radio stack should help and there's less crap being loaded. The camera fix roms have more bluetooth profiles as well.

I found the roms better as did a lot of people, some found it worse.

Stumbled onto this site looking for a way to remove the O2 junk from my Xda2i because I use my T-Mobile sim in it.

Found this upgrade, installed it and am VERY impressed with the speed increase in my Xda2i :D

Oh, I found the easyest way to avoid the O2 stuff was to hard reset, follow the intro instructions right up until it says "tap the screen to start using..." then I tap the screen, then as the "Installing software" thing pops up, I hit reset.

Works for me ;)

Using Pug's 1.162/1.04 file which works fine. I have an O2 Contract.

The seperate O2 contract Cab files (I stumbled accross elsewhere in the forum) only seems to work with SMS. MMS and WAP don't work at all. Is there a ROM which still has the default O2 settings? Can't tell from looking at the files on the ftp Site (ftp://xda:xda@ftp.xda-developers.com/Uploads/Alpine/).

If you just want to upgrade the Radio, just remove NK.nbf and ms_.nbf from the folder containing your update files.
Then perform the upgrade as normal.
This way the only Rom to be upgraded will be the Radio.

edit:
so when it says in the readme "the update will fail, do nothing to the phone and run it again" it isn't joking, kidding, or having a laugh. RTFM.

With the best will in the world I could not get Internet over GPRS working, though I did get MMS sorted using the cab above.

Cured that eventually by going back to O2s 1.69s using normal account, then disabling Active menu as covered elsewhere. Problem now is radio signal is crap.

Thinking about it, can anyone cook a 1.71 ROM with 1.04 Radio or point me in the direction of a 1.04 stand-alone assuming:

If you just want to upgrade the Radio, just remove NK.nbf and ms_.nbf from the folder containing your update files.
Then perform the upgrade as normal.
This way the only Rom to be upgraded will be the Radio.

Can you explain how to achieve this in simple terms.

I had an O2 Xda IIi and decided to follow some threads that suggestted just updating the Radio which I did. It gave problems.

Then I went to use PUG's version and it timed out at Stage 1: Updating Radio. I discovered that if I deleted the radio.nbf, I could update the ROM and Ext ROM.

However, I keep facing Country ID error and the Radio just won't update. Shows R 0 at the startup screen after Hard Reset.

Somebody please help!!!

Thanks.

Just to report to Pug and everybody here that I finally managed to resolve the problem. Now I've got a working IIi again. :D

Did it by removing nk.nbf and mx_.nbf from the directory leaving radio_.nbf.

For some strange reason, having all 3 will give all sorts of errors and I just can't upgrade the radio. Now I've gotten Pug's ROM and all is well!

Proud to inform that i've finally got Radio 1.04 on my XDAII i.
Was messing around with registry and had to hard reset, so thought i'll do the Rom update as well, did a lot of reading and searching and downloaded all the stuff i need. Including WinRar (recommended over Power Archieve!).
Anyway i got the
1.11.162 WWE Ext Rom
Radio 1.04
1.11.00 WWE Rom
I dunno it is the best or not, there were a few to choose from the download so got the Modified...1.04...Rom...
Got it updated as per guide here, first time country id error as expected, completed second time around.
Then got the Maxis MMS & GPRS settings cab file somewhere in forum here and all is well! Seems stable & faster so far!
First thing i did wad removed O2Active though :) Didnt need it.
Tried to install O2 Plus but gave problems, O2 Plus always had problems and slows down the system.
Another thing was hacking the registry to get Disconnect button on GPRS connection, also found in forum here :)
Well done Pug & eveyone here! Thanks!

Ps. Friends from Malaysia, dont worry, update your Rom if u want, no problems!

Download this ftp://xda:xda@ftp.xda-developers.com/Alpine/O2_Roms_Camera_Fixed_Bug/Alpine_Ext-1.11.162_Radio-1.04_O2stuffstripped_Camera_Fixed.rar and delete the NBF files NK.nbf and MS_.nbf LEAVING radio.nbf and run the file MAUpgrade_NOID.EXE

This will upgrade just the radio rom leaving the CE image and Extended ROM image. Warning though, the device will hard reset so do any backups necessary first.

I made this several months ago and as far as I know there are no updates worth it up to now.

Much kudos to Pug for all the excellent work he has put into improving the experience we have with our Xda IIi's. I have a problem however with the above address as I cannot access the ftp site to download this file ... ftp://xda:xda@ftp.xda-developers.com...mera_Fixed.rar

Oook. I have managed to download the Rom, though not from home but work.
I had go so fed up not being able to download it from the ftp site that I had downloaded the .171 version from the My-Xda site and installed it. Apart from the blackberry stuff there was not really much inoprovement that I could see. Anyway, after I managed to get pugs standard .162 version with the camera fix and radio ver. 1.04, I backed up my pda (with activesync!) and then upgraded my pda using the above version (standard .162 with cam fix and radio 1.04). It worked first time without any failures whatsoever. :D

Now the funny thing is, that when I restored my pda using the backup I had made previously, it set my ext rom version back to .171 but the radio version remained at 1.04 and the camera fix is still working!

Many thanks once again to pug for all his efforts in bringing us these much needed improvements to our alpines. :D

ERROR 150: ROM Upgrade utility error. This ROM Upgrade utility was not designed for your device. Please get proper ROM Upgrade utility and try again.

I followed your text advice. After attempting to do nothing and running MAUpgrade_NOID.exe, I get the same error message.

Now I am stuck between USB - v1.01 and (when I remove the Device form synch) Serial - v1.01.

Hard reset does not work to take me back to where I was with the working rom.

Any more help?

Cheers.

pug,

can you take a quick look on page 20, and see the mess I am in?

Can you help please. I have lost control of my device, and I depend on it a lot for my appointments.

I have backed up all my date under the usual backup.stg arrangement. So if you can guide me to the recovery, I shall restore my data okay.

YOSEFE.

Hi, I'm a newbie here. I would like to know if upgrading my radio rom to 1.04 (currently 1.03) on my Qtek 2020i will solve the bluetooth headset static problem. The static will be heard when I move away more than 2 feet (approximately) from the phone or if there is something between the phone and the bluetooth headset (touch BTS 900). But this only happen if I'm using the headset for calls (Headset Profile). Using it to listen to music (A2DP Profile) from the 2020i, I can move away up to around 5 metres without any skipping or static. I've tested the bluetooth headset with a Nokia 6600 phone and there is no problem during calls, so, it is not the headset. I'm hoping to solve the problem without having to buy another bluetooth headset as I like my BTS 900 very much.
Thanks.

Hi masters, I'm new here. I would like to know how can I upgrad my radio rom to 1.04 on my Qtek 2020i? I have an auricular Jabra 500v, that only works with bluetooth 1.1 or 1.2.
I had a Qtek 2020, with WM 5 installed, but I changed with my sister, cause the Qtek 2020i, has Wireless and the other doesn't. The auricular works just fine on 2020 but does not on 2020i :(

Please, somebody could me help ?

Many thanks in advance

My system:
R: 1.02.00
G: 1337.41
D: 1.11.00 WE

Hi guys,
I don't know, if that will solve my auricular problem.
But I've found at www.our-xda.co.uk the Alpine rom 1.04.

Thanks to all

m3daf - if I'm not mistaken, HTC Alpine is SPV 2500, not SPV 1500. The ROM in this thread is for HTC Alpine.

Hi, my reception on Rogers Canada is terrible, and thanks to all the positive comments here, I've decided to take the plunge and upgrade...

I'm currently:

ROM Version: 1.11.00 WWE
ROM Date: 01/27/05
Protocol: 1337.39
ExtROM Version: 1.11.923 WWE

It seems to have O2 stuff in it, like the bootscreen but no annoying O2 today app. I am a bit confused about all the different roms, can someone suggest the right one for me? I'm looking for Radio 1.04, improved camera, and bluetooth etc.

I'm also looking at backup solutions now...any advice is appreciated!

I had posted as follows "The links on this thread are rather old, which is why they don't seem to work. Can anyone point me to anywhere where I could download the Alpine updated ROM with Radio 1.04?"

Then I looked a bit harder and found the ftp address for this site - ftp://xda:xda@ftp.xda-developers.com/Uploads/Alpine/Modified%20XDA_IIi_Upgrade_v1.11.162_Radio_1.04.ra r

Got everything I need, I think.

Thanks for being there..

Hi Jored!
It's part of the most recent ROM version for the Alpine. Here is a link: http://www.maxishare.net/en/file/378/alpine-1-11-171-radio-1-04-bluetooth-patched-camera-fixed-rar.html
