Anyone noticed that O2 uk are now doing a wm2003se update for the xda II?
And they have taken the words, 'this is the final release' away, meaning they could be bringing an official WM2005!

and it does say the "latest and final update"
Unless O2 have said there will be an update - then there isn't going to be one. Sell your Xda and buy a WM5 if it's that critical for you

woops...sorry
my mistake.
But didnt they say that the last update would be the final relase?? ~Then they release this.
Why sell the XDA II, currently it is one of the better options, will upgrade to IIi later but for now im sticking with it.

It is odd you say that, because here http://web.o2.ie/business/phones_and_devices/xda/software_upgrade_xda2.jsp it is the exact same number but clearly says 'Pocket PC 2003 2nd edition from Microsoft'
So i assume it is in fact 2003SE
Or O2 has just not got it together

Hate to disappoint you mate, but at the top of this page it mentions the version 1.72.187 - which is 2003, not 2003SE. Just the same ol' that O2 UK has (albeit with more authentications).
My opinion is: the WM 2003 SE upgrade (2.06.00 WWE I found on buzzdev.net) - even if slightly buggy was the best that could happen to my O2 XDA II - it enabled AA Navigator which refused to work on standard WM2003.
I tried WM2005 and I went back to WM2003SE - my SatNav solution failed to work on it. Plus the most important thing is, the XDA II has 128 MB RAM and only 14.5 ROM (can be increased) - this is not a device made with Windows Mobile 2005 in mind (whose paradigm is to put Storage data into Flash ROM and Program into RAM). It's like an attempt to put male clothes on a busty girl - they just don't fit and poor gal will suffer.
