It does work, but you need to run this patch everytime you want to use TomTom. It requires a reboot before and after use so a little annoying. However it does the job.

Try this GlobalSat BT338 SIRF Star III Bluetooth GPS (http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=122496). It works just fine with sp3i, sp5m, qtek 2020 & PC and ... inside my office !!

TomTom work fine in qtek 8310 I- mate sp5 you just need to download the latest update from tt website.
if you have any problem post it here and I try to help if I can.

i install TT 5.20, with Benelux Map. I start TT ok, choose a voice ok, when it come to choose a map, i choose benelux, wait 5 sec, then i'm ejected from TT ? it will close himself ?

i have install TT (copy and paste) all necessary files into my mini SD card, included the map (the map is the one from my TT navigator, work fine in my Qtek S100)

I just install the patch in order to install ant kind application (the certificate unlock tool)
but nothing change, still can't stat the map

i try other map, same thing.

what i'm doing wrong?

i copy and overwrite all files. Start TT again and now the message is different : i only have the green warning screen when you can only say "accept"
then i'm directed to the map choice
i try both map (Benelux_Map from my TT navigator 5; and an older Belgium_Map from an older TT 4.4)
still don't work

i'm ejected again.

I think it's the map. Anyone here with a small map to test ?

hi, the map u using is for old version of tomtom mobile 4 wich i think that is not compatible with tomtom 5,you need to get the map of tt5 in order to get it to work.

i think my mini SD is the probleme.

I try several maps from Tornado users, and for me when i try to open the map it will eject me from TT

PS: all the maps i'm using is TT5 maps
i tr to get a new SD tomorow, i let you know

just get a new card but no change.

i read and read and finally i understand my mystake.
the files i've got say "copy currentmap.dat into storage card/my document/tomtom"
that was wrong, need to be copy into main memory/my document/tomtom

grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

now it's working fine

Thanks, I had exactly the ame problem, took me ages, until I copied the currentmap.dat to the main memory, not the storage card.

What also helped 4 me was to copy the canary island map to the root of the sd card... i can use the newest maps of europe which are supplied with a tomtom go 500
