That is definitely some great news. I am hoping that they will be able to offer this service to both versions of the Wizard (100 and 200 series), since we're all lead to believe at this point that the only difference is cosmetic. If Cingular sells their 8125 (their yucky brand name for the Wizard) for $299 with a contract, that will be the best price for a Wizard I have ever seen. Couple that with a $40 (average) unlock fee from IMEI-check, and you've got yourself a winner!

Help me out here... I have a Dutch T-Mobile Vario running Pocket PC 2005 in DUTCH. I want to install either:-

English ROM (from T-Mobile UK - I guess)
or
English K-JAM Rom - I think that this will do a better job - not so modified (This is my gut feeling).

Do I need to unlock the phone (with this app for example) before I change the ROM?

Which ROM should I go for?

Any advice greatfuly rec'd.

what if someone were to unlock thier phone, and then upload that rom image? would a phone flashed with that rom be unlocked?

@Belgilux - yes, thats exactly how you have to do it! unlock the device via imei-check.co.uk, that erases your country id and then you can install e.g. the imate k-jam rom on it without any trouble. i just did that and now my english k-jam runs with german os...

@interestingfellow - no. unlocked is unlocked and will not be re-locked again.

Wow! That means I can have a taiwanese dopod 838, run the unlock to erase the country id and then flash it to english? Could you take some photos to show us?

Wait a sec. If I were to flash it to the qtek or kjam rom, wouldn't it be irreversible? As in, is there anyone with the original vario rom?

If not, is there anyway I can get it from my vario?

Not sure and I have just asked the same question on a new thread on the board. Be interesting to find out as I have just got my T-Mobile vario unlocked using http://www.imei-check.co.uk/m3000unlock.php and it worked great, now using my Orange SIM card on the phone in the UK.
