The wizard is great, But I am hardly using the wifi and my network doesnt support edge. So I got a less powerfull device and all for just a keyboard and WM5.
I kept my magician in the hope that there will be a wm5 upgrade. Which I hear consant rumours that there will be an upgrade. As soon as there is , I will probably switch back to the magician.... and sell my wizard.

I got a universal to test and develop on, but I still use my magician as my full system. If and when there's a magician, ie 400mhz processor in wizard's form factor, I'd consider it for the keyboard and wifi, but I need something pocketable and the Magician is still a cutey pie.

WM5 doesn't overly compel me. I could retrofit some of the UI to WM2003se, but frankly I quite like the WM2003se's no nonsense approach. It's Windows 2000 to Windows XP kinda. There are many intangible benefits to WM5, but I'm inclined to think, if they're too small to notice, perhaps I won't notice not having them. So I'm not wetting myself over WM5. The main advantage of the Universal's bigger screen is hardware.
The other benefits of the OS, eg softbuttons, don't do too much for me.

i played around with an ipaq i think it was that had WM5.. honestly the differences were so small that i had to look for them. With all this talk about WM5 i thought it would blow me away but then when i had it in my hand there wasn't much of a difference. so thats why it doesnt bother me if WM% comes to the magician or not. Quite frankly, Bill Gates can keep it!!

Mate, the iMate Jam can't be upgraded to WM2005 because it doesn't have the proper memory layout.

The entire OS would need to be modded for the Jam. I can't imagin any manufacturer putting time into that.

Which I hear consant rumours that there will be an upgrade.

These rumours are nothing but wishful thinking. Anyway there is already a Magician with WM5, it is called "HTC Charmer" and sold als T-Mobile MDA compact II
