Maybe its just the headphones that are supplied with the M5000, but it seems a little quiet to me. When I'm listening to Podcasts on the tube with it, I sometimes can barely hear whats being said. I never had this issue with my PDA2K.
Anyone know of anything that can be done to crank the volume up higher?

Yes, push O2 etc. to release a ROM update for this known issue :(

same problems here on the tube though sometimes - eg this morning - the volume was really high despite all settings being the same and listening to the same mp3s as yesterday.
Using different headphones seems to help a bit but there is definitely something not correct...

I have the feeling, the volume on my MDA Pro ist very law, too. When I ride a bike with my earphones, it's to quiet for me. I can't find in "settings" something like "system volume" (in my old iPaq there was something like this) Is there any way to solve this problem?

My small opinion:
There are so many locations where you set the sound volume.
Just to check, as I had the same problem:
1. The slider button on the front side is put on max?
2. The Windows mediaplayer (if you use that) has a plus and minus... Is it on 100%
3. And then maybe your headset has a sound volume wheel also?
If not satisfied, there is an option to enhance your soundfiles.
I used it for my Nokia 9500 and it works fine.It runs on your Pc and is free. Its called mp3gain.
http://mp3gain.sourceforge.net/
It can do all files in a folder in one time. Dont exagerate however or your sound will be distorted. Start with small steps (3db?)
There are different options. just use the tool to add some db's.
Menu/modify gain/apply constant gain and move the slider 3 db.

I have already bought the headphones from Sennheiser, and the sound quality and volumen is much, much better now, when I compare it to the original headphones. But I will proof Your advises, too.
Thanks for the tips.

Do the headphones make that much difference?
I have a cheap pair of off-brand headphones and my Qtek 9000 is very quiet. :?

Good earphones make a huge difference. I was really surprised. I use them only for music listening and not for calling.

Use pocket player or similar and adjust the pre-amp settings.
