IR Protocols

Are there settings in the registry or other for the Infra Red protocol or other adjusment.

We have a program written by a third party for a proprietary item of equipment which works with some Windows PDA and not others.

The program does all the things it is supposed to do except handshake and transmit via infra red.

The infra red works ok on the PDA with other devices etc. etc.

Ok,
I found the registry settings but am now a bit confusd about their meaning.
They are in \HKLM\Comm\IrDA
I have:
AutoSuspend 1
Baud 38
DevAddr 10386
Hints 33316
IntIR 1

I have been trying to read up but.. Baud 38? very unlikely....
Hints 33316 is supposed to relate to the type of device, can't find any info on what alternatives may work better.

Anyone any ideas.....
