hi, guys, i have a problem with my O2 XDA IIs (ASIA) power switch. When i was bought the device it was ok, later on i have been upgraded the ROM to later version, which the manufacturer provided me. Since then i always getting a problem with the power switch.

i mean when ever i try to turn on/off the device, normally the switch does not respond, but if i try few times then it works. Sometimes it works fine. sometime i press the power switch once and the device turn off after 3-4 minite.

i have triyed with different version rom's. But no result. Only once i have tried O2 UK original Shipped ROM and it works fine few months, then again same problem.

But i am preety sure that the switch does not have hardware problem.

I think it's a manufacturing bug. Is anybody has any IDEA to solve the problem, or is their any other way to map the power switch with another switch, i mean is it possible to map "OK" button as a power switch.

Thanks.

Hi guys, It seems to me that i have found a way to fix the problem. I mean i have fix my one today. But be careful before try this, because it might be void your warrenty or you might loose the data.

I have open my o2 XDA IIs (Blueangle), have a close look inside. Then i have checked the power switch with a multimeter and the switch seems to be fine then i found the connector between mainboard & keypad has some "Dirty Stuff" on the connection pins, i think this is glue type thing, I have surprised  because this o2 i have used maximum 10-12 times since i bought and i have just bought that 3-4 months ago. (You might ask me that why i didn't send that for warrenty service, because i have bought this from overseas and when this problem first arise i was called O2 Support in my country and they denies to give me warrenty)
so i have cleaned that connector & socket with circuit board cleaning liquid and also i have put some cleaning liquid inside the power switch. then i have put back all together and found everything is working well.

lets hope this should last long. :P
