I'm looking for the Brodit passive holder for the JasJar and a compatible windshield mount with an adjustable goose-neck, I'm in the US. www.proclipusa.com doesn't appear to carry either, although I understand they are the US distributor.
Anyone, any ideas where I can get these?

I am looking for one in the USA as well. Proclip USA claims that they will have the Passive holder soon, but haven't gotten a definitive answer from them. None of the UK shops appear to be able to ship outside of the US, so I guess we are stuck waiting for Proclip USA to get them. Because the Jasjar is not really a USA device, I'm sure they are not in any hurry to get them in.

So how does this clip function.
Do you slide the Universal in, or do you kind of clip it in.
Is the power cord attached to the clip and you just slide it down in to the usb port, or is the wire just dangling all over the place when it's not connected.
I hate multi action holders and dont want something where i have to use both hands and a foot to get it in place.
I go in and out of my car many times a day, so it should be easy and without hassle.
I can live with the fact that i have to use a BT GPS, even though i love my BA holder having the GPS integrated, ooohh and what other choises are there out there.....none :?

Like you, bosjo, I've become accustomed to having my bluetooth GPS receiver powered via a wired link to my old M2000 active cradle. Having juice supplied to both M2000 and BT GPS meant I could never get lost.
I'm hoping in due course these Brodit M5000 cradles will also allow power to be supplied to BT GPS otherwise it's going to be a mess of wires in my car!

CarKitOnline have got O2 Exec holders in and is actually cheaper than HandNav - you need to phone them because the phone is not listed on the website yet.

Why dont you just call them and ask them what their problem is. Did they mention that the delivery time is less than that? I am sure ordering from Brodit direct would have been much better.

Yeah they do seem a bit unresponsive...they sent me out a screen protector and a cigarette adapter within a day but my leather case and brodit holder is still 'out of stock'. I phoned them and they gave me a date of 18th...so try phoning them and they will tell you when more stock is coming in.
IN the end i cancelled my brodit holder from them and brought it from handnav (who were supplying the clip anyway) for cheaper :-).
Still waiting for the leather case though..........
Unversaldoc - how much is the brodit holder direct from them? Surely they will charge more!!

They keep saying stock is arriving, that date comes and no stock, same again this morning, think i was told new stock was coming on 16th Dec and another lot coming 19th Dec so i should definitely have it before the 21st.
Best bit is you pay postage for 2-3 day delivery muuuhaaahaaha
Trouble is the wifes bought me it on her plastic as a stocking filler so i dont want to bug her for her card again, you know how they growl :)

Hi All,
I sell the Brodit kits and know that Brodit had a severe quality control issue with the charging leads on the active charging cradles, which meant they had to go back to the drawing board and get new leads shipped in from their supplier, hence long delays.
I still have stocks of the all Xda Brodit ranges inc. the Exec in stock if anyone is interested. Please PM me.
Seems a shame that no one told you all of the delay though.

@Cut,
Costs around £60 for the holder and the pro-clip not including delivery costs. I agree, they are expensive compared to the other resellers but they are dependable and have fantastic support. Personally, i wouldn't mind paying the extra £10 just for the quality of support and feedback :)

@ bosjo
Hi,
You simply slide the Exec into the cradle and in one go, with one hand, plug the usb cable into the port. From here you can either have it as a portrait PDA i.e. XDA 2i etc, or turn the whole cradel 45 degrees to have it in laptop mode. Its engineered in a way that you have minimal cable dangling everywwhere and indeed the cradle has a plastic dock to place the mini usb lead into when not in use, so no dangling cables......its a nice bit of kit.
There is now way on this earth as far as I can see that ever will a cradle or dock be brought out that has a way of docking to a side usb port, just my thoughts, but i think thats why the Exec no longer has a cradle for your desktop as the old XDAs did.
Hope that helps, PM me if you want any images.

Hi All again,
After many PMs asking for images and prices, please feel free to have a look at my site that has all the brodit car kits, cradles for all types of gadgets, be it PDA XDA (oh yes! My first love!) Ipods mobile phone cradles Pro Clip etc.
www.dsldevelopments.co.uk
Im scared that this will be viewed as flagrent advertising on this free to use and fantastic resource site, but I am hoping it will be viewed as a way to help and advise my fellow XDA lovers, and would be happy to help anyone whom is unsure what to order, and how much it may cost to get, well, simply put, the best car cradles and car kit for Xda available, no one is better than Brodit at what they do.....
Also , ive been swamped with emails from old site friends and other forum users on this, so hope it helps guide you as to what you need.
Again, please PM me if you are unsure, Ill be happy to help if I can, there are bigger companies than mine selling this stuff, I know, but happy to advise anyway if i can,
Thanks all,
Bryson

Bryson - We are all posting links to site anyway so I dont see why they would see it as a problem.
Thanks for all your help with clearing everything up.
OH and if your intested in a XDA Exec docking station you can find one here:
http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=126238&asource=119353
I would like to buy it because it looks cool but there isnt really a need! How lazy can you be if you cant be bothered to plug a usb cable in.

Bryson,
You mentioned that the Brodit/Proclip mount for the universal has some problems with the power connection problems.
Is that still true or have they taken care of the issue?
Thinking of buying one for my car since I've just recently purchased one from Mad Monkey (You da man!). Just need to find the right vehicle mount for my car.
Anybody in Germany who can help me? Looking for a Vent mount for the Universal for the 100NX LHD. I believe the Item #: is 851934.
Thanks.

I've just had my active cradle and brodit pro clip delivered... didn't realise that it was a permanent fixing system...I have also ordered a universal suction mount from mobilefun as I often need to use TomTom in other cars... with the proclip system you have to screw the cradle onto the proclip...
There must be a system that lets me move the cradle between cars easily??
Thanks!

Well folks, mine has been fitted in my VW for a wee while now, costings as follows:
Tilting, Swivelling, Charging Active Holder - £22.33*
Proclip for my VW £7.20*
Royal Mail Special Delivery £4.20
*sans VAT I'm afraid but then again I convinced my boss to pay for it!
Brilliant bit of kit, charging lead is working well with the lead hardwired into my dashboard leaving things uncluttered and also the 12v socket free.

I'm interested to get one as well after reading this.
I remembered a while ago somebody mentioned that the cradle covers the left side speaker of the Jasjar so that it reduces the sound level significantly. You guys that have one with you, can you confirm that this is fixed? A picture of that particular spot will be great. Please. Thanks in advance.

and here:
Brodit ProClips (http://www.mountonus.com/Brodit-Popular/ProClip/Brodit-ProClip.aspx)
More about ProClips:

The actual web-site:

I don't think there are cheaper prices in UK.
Hope that helps.
