Colinc,

I have managed this. But I had to send my query via the email option. When I tried the call centre the CS person told me it was only possible to add voice calls to business user accounts not personal. I sent query by email from the 02 web site, which goes to an off-shore CS dept i think, and they activated voice calls (I did upgrade to Data 36 as well at the same time).

I take it you have a voice plan as well as the Data5?

"O2 Data 5
(With voice calling plan or as Data Only)"

Sean, no the voice calls are at the business Pay as You Go rate, see this at the O2 web site: http://www.o2.co.uk/productsservices/mobileweb/tariffs/0,,141,00.html

See the details for Data5

 see what you meen but it seems that o2 have at least 3 different Data5 tariffs, The one I have been quoted (and used) is £8 plus vat and is available as a bolt on to a monthly call tariff.

sean, but if yu click the "data tariff" ink at bottom of that page you get
http://flash.o2.co.uk/business/tariffs/pdfs/DataTariffs_PriceList_1stOct2004.pdf

wich states includes the £8 pm data tariff - which I have as a standalone ( not bolt on)

"Voice calls per minute (when data tariffs are taken as a standalone tariff)
UK fixed-line numbers, O2 mobiles and other UK network mobiles 21.28p anytime"

so I should be able to use for voice , albeit at 21p pm "pay as I use"
whats the point of an "all in one machine - if I have to swap sims

been 14 days ... 3 emails ( ignored)
2 calls , - "can't do" well data specialist ageed yes... put me thro' to c/s who said NO.. then cut me ff
1 complaint letter

O2 t&c says they resolve mistakes within 7 days or I can cancel contract!! penalty free, trouble is not keen on them registering a non payment on my credit file, so might have to try and invoice them , follow thro' C Courts if need me

See what you meen, Ive never tried to use the Dat5 the way you do, so unfortunately cant help. What I do know is that when it comes to O2's data tariffs or mobile web most O2 staff havnt got a clue, I'm thinkin goin with a different provider when my contract is up.
