View Full Version : Test: Himalaya WM5 ROM ported to BA device.
mamaich
7th December 2005, 08:55 AM
After some playing I've managed to make Himalaya's ROM work on our devices. A test version is uploaded here - ftp://xda@xda-developers.com/Uploads/Blueangel/wm5_test/hima2baWM5testROM.rar
This ROM should be considered as a first step towards porting HTC Wizard's ROM to our devices. WM5 Roms of other QVGA devices can be also used as a template. If you have such ROMs - post them here.
This ROM should be considered as a test and should not be used on real devices!
What's new in this version:
- DirectX mobile/Direct3D mobile support!
- Native WM5 camera API
- no need to install any patches for BA WM5 ROM
- Himalaya's ROM is newer and should be more stable than BA
Known bugs:
- When using BT a crash in device.exe occurs, but BT continues to work
- Camera is rotated, and max resolution is 480x360, installing 2003SE camera fix may fix that
The ROM still does not have MMS client.
What should be tested:
- overall stability of this ROM. It has only several files from BlueAngel native ROM and they may conflict with something.
- BT headset disconnection bug should be checked. My headset is broken, so i cannot check it myself
- maybe someone would play with registry on this ROM? I think that BT crashes and rotated camera may be fixed by editing registry.
The tools used to create this ROM are here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=34171
Installation:
Download archive, fix country code, flash. Make hard reset after flashing! Press record+camera+reset button, and select "format storage" in menu.
Note. I cannot create WM5 ROM for those devices that don't have leaked or official WM5 ROM created for them! Alpine and Magician users - dont ask me to do so!

So far it seems great! I did have to run the MaUpgradeUt_noID instead of BaUpgradeUt because of my device and I had to run the CameraFix to fix the slowness due to sound issue. Will test BT today. So far though it's much more responsive.... and I've yet to overclock.
Great work mamaich and company!
Thanks!!!!!!!!

Microsoft Voice Command 1.5 not working with this ROM....
Nevermind, did format of storage etc and reinstalled, works now.
There is just one wierd bit of behavior though. When using the "Ringer" commands it changes the phone volume not the PDA volume (which really is the ringer) and for Vibrate it just cuts the sound off instead of switching to vibrate.

Bugs:
1. Brightness settings do not change
2. Wireless manager creates a G icon that is black
3. Keyboard repeat issue still exists
4. Shows I'm always roaming
5. GRPS connections still do not show in the bubble.
I'll be digging into the registry to see if i can figure out why the camera is rotated.

BT much better with my Motorolla hs850, hasn't disconnected me when the device suspends. Keyboard hasn't repeated. Seems faster and more stable, only reset once. Microsoft Voice works like a charm. Activesync 4.1 with my laptop and Exchange 2003 server flawless.
Biggest annoyance is the constant notification that wireless networking will use gprs.....
Still testing but so far I'm lovin' it mamaich!

First impressions: SO DARN FASTER. Much faster than ANY BA WM5 release. Now let's apply some registry tweaks.....
Edit: There is a mistake in the registry tweaks you have defaultly in the ROM, one is at the storagemanager is 4096 in hexa, not in decimal. Still, VERY FAST compared to other ROMs. Maybe this time I'll keep it...testing the sound right now.
Edit2: Can't change backlight. Gonna try the BA patch and see if it makes any difference.
Edit3: Can't install the patch...it says i don't have enough system privilages.. oh well, waiting for a backlight fix.
Edit4: using Wisbar Advance2, STILL fast. This ROM is definatelly a keeper, and now let's do some manual patching on the backlight...

Hmm, I guess both WM5 Build 14343 (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_5.1.1700_build_14343_Upgrade ) & this WM5 BA Upgrade both has the same version.
However, I find this version to be slower on response. I thought this version does not require any patches to make the system faster.
Another weird observation, I downgrade my WM5 Build 1700 (+ patches) to WM2003SE, then upgrade to this version so just in case I did hard-reset, I don't have to redo all patches. But right now, this version is slower than the previous one that I have, and my installed program from previous WM5 are still there.
I also have duplicate calendar, contacts, ... icons under Start;Programs for some reason.

I still get that program after flashing to this ROM.
I hope registry patches would be out soon.... at least for the backlight option in the Settings panel.
Speed wise, much faster as compared to other 2005 ROM, but still not comparable to 2003SE (maybe some improvements could be done)..
thanks mamaich!

Curious on how you did an upgrade without a hard reset? And really confused regarding not wanting to do all patches... did you kill the registry, etc upon first reboot after flashing? That's the only way I can see where you would have duplicates. I've done every WM5 rom update since Mamaich, Buzz and friends back in Sept supplied this info and haven't had such problems. I think I have the same device as you, anything I can do to help, just ask.
Cheers!

Gentlemen, this looks too good to pass, even though it's a test version. Could somebody please answer three questions:
1. Upgrading can be done directly from the earlier BA WM5 ROM without going to WM2003 as a middle station, right?
2. Can it also be downgraded to that ROM in case I come across something that makes it impossible for me to use (like NetRemote not working)?
3. Is there anything wrong with WiFi function? I don't use GPRS, I almost never use the camera or MMS, but I do use WiFi several times a day.
Thanks in advance! I'll be jumping on the bandwagon today if I get the "right" answers (right for me) to these soon! :D

I find this rom nice and stable, and is definately faster than the previous Maimich rom released, so i'll stick with this one for a while.
Managed to get my camera working but no luck with the backlight yet even with the patch the backlight became permanently turned off so i had to remove it, will try again later!
The only thing that bugs me about this rom is the gui speed, as pretty as it looks when i recieve a new sms it takes ages for the bubble to appear compared to 2003se - and the messages application takes forever to open!
Anyway ive overclocked to 530mhz and this helps a bit, but a good tweak to speed up the gui appearance would be appreciated :)

This release is very good, I had to apply the Camer2k5 and the light_fix2 fixes.
Two problems remain:
1. Bluetooth/Wlan get turned off on resume.
2. Often, when turning on, the brightness level for On Battery gets reset to 0.
Unfortunately both these problems are very annoying. The second problem (brightness) seems to affect only me, I didn't read nothing in the thread, am I right?
Anyway, this is the best release I tried, with a couple of fixes it could be perfect.
Thanks to everyone who made it possible, I'll keep watching this thread and I hope the wiki will get updated. :)

Hello Everybody, I just flashed this new ROM ( From a WM5 patch v3 ), and i found some programs missing like Buttons Lock, and some from my old installation just still present, so i did a Hard Reset and changed the 2nd and 3rd options to "yes" to force a format and a new registry, then i booted again and it was all there, I have apllied these patches (light_FIX2.CAB, Camera2K5.cab, MMS universal cab then turn off for 15 sec and Reset ) then copied the Camera shortcut in order to have it working with button, also the Xbackup is there but not working , so i removed the Xbackup Icon too.
I mentioned a slight increase in Speed, overall looks fine, but Damn no midi and no album, I tried to install the old WM5 patch for this but no luck, So please anyone who have it working ( Midi and Album ) please post.
Thanks for all xda-developpers and forum members for these great releases

Ok. I like it. I like it alot. But I've noticed some problems.
Speed is ok. Some of the registry tweaks for the old version seem to do some good here, too.
Problems (There are more then I listed, but I forget what they are):
1) MSN Messenger doesn't work.
2) GPRS problems. When I connect to GPRS, my phone goes kinda wonky. Loses signal alot (even in areas that have full signal with GPRS off), and the worst part is that it seems I CAN'T RECEIVE CALLS with GPRS on - does anyone else have this?
What is this talk about hex to dec changes?

Right I noticed that there is a icon for wifi and bluetooth in the quick links. However, there is a major lag when I click on the start button. It takes at least 3 - 10 seconds for the start menu applications to pop up.
Also the bluetooth light keeps flashing even when the bluetooth is not active unless it is forced on through the software and the light is flashing to indicate that.
Running through the Settings portion of the control panel, the unit runs like a champ!
There definately needs to be a fix about the start button!
Siemens SX66 Cingular
OKAY! Just a quick update!! I did the no_camera_update from the original files from mamaich...that fixed the start button lag completely! This software works as if it was meant for this phone!!!!!!
Also when you use this, the camera icon when clicked opens up your album.
Updated the light fix. No problems there? I hope...
Installed Voice Command and TCPMP!
Voice Command Works Perfect without patches. I think the previous user who posted wasn't using the correct version or didn't know how to update to the latest version.
TCPMP Works but there is definately a lag to it. I was playing a movie from my 2 Gig SD card and it has to rebuffer very often. If someone knows how to setup TCPMP to optimize it for the SX66, please let me know!
Wi-Fi connected right away! Even gave me my neighbors Wi-Fi networks.
Installed Agile Messenger for AIM via Wi-Fi. Connected without a hitch!
Media Player works like a CHAMP! Fast and less lag when watching videos. I am watching videos with Korean writing in the title that shows up as boxes. It doesn't lag! No conversions either!
Now with all these updates and the phone working so well, I recommend the 3550 battery to keep up with the usage of the phone! Overall, this phone has come a long way!
Thanks for all your updates and constant work on this project. It really has made this phone worth its weight in gold!

3 Download GetDeviceData. Copy to your device, run it, then copy \Windows\GetDeviceData.txt to your PC.
4 Download EditFix.bat and XDA3NbfTool. Patch your ROM with the data in GetDeviceData.txt -- read EditFix.bat for the how-to.
Where can I find the instructions for doing this (the patching of ROM) when I follow the links in the "HTC_Blueangel_WM5_Himalaya Port" instructions page for EditFix.bat and XDA3NbfTool all they do is tell me that they are to be used with each other but no instructions see to exist.

Hi!
I had a very quick wm05 before this himalaya version because
1. I used ervey possible speed hack and put the dates very high (my rams wasn't used anyway by ext. rom or buzzs ramdisk)
2. I switch off what is not necessary like meters some notification sounds
3. All animations off
In this thread I read nearly just positive opinions about the new rom so I tried it.
1. I was positively suprised that this rom use nearly 40mb of ram and I thought this would be the answer why it should be faster than the roms before
2. I tried to use some speed hacks but it does speed up a bit the device but not really although I put the dates extremely high! It worked at the old roms although a lot people said it wouldn't. I must admitt that u can do some additional speed hacks with this version others don't have
3. I tried every trick of the other wm05 roms like put the date into the top bar some other registry hacks and so on.......
And the rom began to become unstable! I recieved a lot of errors! Although it was still slower than my previous wm05 version with mamaich patch3 or 4! So I throttled the device down made some resets but it remains unstable(I don't overclock) !
My post should not be seen as an advice to use other roms or to tell every body that this rom is a bad one. If u use it and u like it because u just see advantages in it according to speed and stability just use it. Perhabs it is really good for u!
But in my opinion it is until now still a test rom and I will switch back to my old wm05
Mastiff
11th December 2005, 05:09 PM
I disagree. Without hacks it's still faster than anything I could make the previous ROM do, and it's stable as well. I think you should try without any of the hacks for a few days.

I agree with Lixtek that the old WM5 was better, and I just flashed back to the old one, for speed difference nothing to be mentioned, and the main reason I flashed back to this old WM5 i had was the Camera and Album features that are still not working right on the Himalaya ported WM5.

Unless I missed and important step (like using editfix.bat which I can't find the correct instructions for) then I have to agree that this version is slower.
I've had to install the no camera patch just to get it working fine with sounds.
I also don't like how the notification remains in the lower bar area if you are using either WiFi or GPRS.
It does run very stabile until you start installing software and then it's anyone's guess as to what will happen next...

I've installed this and run different kind of softwares without any problem such as: PI 2005, Cash Organizer, Wisbar Advance 2, iLauncher, Pocket Hack Master, Memmaid, Tweaks 2k2 (Working fine now! no more error like the old WM5), resco explorer, and many more.
The only application that doesn't work is MSN Messenger which can be replaced with Agile Messenger or other chatting software.
It would be nice if GPRS notification when WiFi connected can be disabled, but I still can survive with that considering the speed that it gained.

The MAupdate_NOID.exe program is the one to use if your phone is PH20B1 (No Camera with GSM). If you phone is CDMA (Verizon/Sprint) then you can't use this.
The upgrade only includes an image for CE ROM, no extended rom and the utility will not show the version currently on your phone.
If you need more assistance you can PM me, I have flashed my phone with WM2005 several times (even gone back and forth between WM2k5 and Wm2005).

update:
I had to rename the HTCRUU files to say just RUU so that the MA upgrade utility would work--It loaded but how do I know it REALLY loaded? is there something I should look for? I find that since I don't have a camera I have to diable sounds and load in the patch then reenable sounds--I dont see how this is any different if it in fact loaded since I still have to load in all the patches--Is it simply more stable and faster? Thanks for all of your help!!
Update #2--
IT WORKS!!!!!
once I loaded in all of the patches like before and reenabled sounds, I tested the wifi right away wince I was having issues before and it connected right away and now I have a black blox with a white "W" whereas I did not have that before. the startup screen is much faster and more responsive than before but for me the real test is the phone app which I have yet to test. I will get back with you all later with results!!

So, it seems faster, a lot of bugs are getting worked out but what is the deal with GPRS? Does GPRS work under this version of WM5 on the BA? I live and die by my GPRS connection, my phone is paid for by my job so I have a constant GPRS connection to get my email from work via Pylon Anywhere. If GPRS doesn't work under this version I can't use it, if it DOES work under this version then I think it's time for me to do it.
What's the verdict? GPRS work or not?

GPRS Works for me. There are reported problems of 3rd party apps not automatically initiating GPRS but I cannot confirm.
The only 3rd party app I use which pulls data via GPRS (and/or WiFi) is Sbsh Pocket Weather. All I had to do was select a checkbox on the Comms tabs which says "Use Connection Manager" and it works 100% of the time.
Also, ironically this ROM seems to work best if you get to it by doing the following:
Upgrade from Wm2k3 to the original BA WM5 ROM (patched Version 3)
Flash HimaPort ROM over BA ROM
On Hard Reset, format storage and Registry Hive.

Using the upgrade path I outlined above seems to work best (in my experience).
I've experienced the keyboard "stutter" or repeating issue and here is how I fixed it.
START => Settings => System => Keyboard
This is where you enable the backlight for your keyboard.
Click on the "Repeats Setting", it says that it is for buttons but I'm now convinced that the keyboard is considered a bunch of buttons.
Move both sliders to the middle, then click "ok" in upper right of screen.
Now try your keyboard, this seems to eliminate the repeating keyboard problem....
CURRENT ISSUES ON MY PHONE
#1 - Cannot get MMS working on Cingular network in US.
#2 - Occasionally e-Mail program will just close for no apparent reason (I will uninstall the MMS from WM2k3 and see if this goes away).
#3 - Might be issues with Sbsh Pocket Breeze/iLauncher/Pocket Weather, currently troubleshooting to see if they cause instability.
#4 - Annoying that the WiFi Fix simply reverses the problem (ie used to never turn WiFi on after resume/reset but with fix always turns it on) I would prefer if it could remember the last state of WiFi.
#5 - Windows Notification Sounds are not disabled when I'm on a phone call!
#6 - What the hell is "Desktop" that keeps showing up in my running tasks and then F's everything up when I try to close it?
#7 - "Unhandled error has occured in the shell. Attempting to restart the shell", if I try to close an file browsing window while "Desktop" process is running. This actually resets the phone, thank MS for persistant storage!
WISH LIST
#1 - Way to tell WiFi to not automatically want to connect to "non-preferred" Access Points so I can drive to work without it asking me if I want to connect to everyone's WLAN.
#2 - A way to disable the persistant notification when you have a WiFi or GPRS connection. I wastes the left soft key by keeping it stuck in "Notification" just to tell you that Applications will first connect to WiFi/GPRS.
#3 - Way to tell ActiveSync that it cannot connect or Sync with anything unless I'm actually connected to something so it should only load when I establish a "sync-able" connection.
There are more coming....

I've just upgraded to this new ROM after trying the previous WM5 ROM and going back to WM2003SE because I use my BA at work as an MD and if it goes down on me in the middle of the day I'm screwed. I was excited to hear of the new stability and speed with this new ROM.
So far I can attest that GPRS works nicely. This ROM is definitely more stable- maybe as stable as the standardization ROM for WM2k3.
Problems (can anyone help?)
1.) The speed is about the same as the last WM5 ROM. kinda crappy, actually, but not really slooooow. i have magic button and SPB diary installed. BTW, epocrates works but is QUITE slow and doesn't sync (database-intense medical lookup app).
2.) Granted, I played with it all day and ran auto-check email every 45 min, but the battery life was cutting it close for my 12 hour shift. I have a 30 hour shift tomorrow. What gives on the battery life? One point of information is that I had the PPC cradled but in boot loader mode for about an hour while fiddling with getting the update tools to work right. I've heard that if you flash on a less-than-full battery, the OS remembers that capacity where it's flashed and then calls that 100% and doesn't charge past there. True? Does the battery still charge while cradled in bootloader mode?
Thanks for all those who did the work on this ROM. I appreciate it.

I don't understand for sure what is supposed to happen and what I need to change in the editfix.bat
I ran the bat file and paused it at every screen...it seems that all the files are giving me errors...i know we are only focused on one but all of them give me errors. Its almost as if there is no reason to change anything...
I was forced to use the regular file that was already in the zip package and use the old updater from mamaich. that worked fine for me except the minor glithes that everyone else has.
My phone still says ATT when I know for sure I have a Cingular cell site next to me.
Wifi is still an issue when the phone turns off and back on
bluetooth - forget about it if you change to win 2k5
It definately as is runs faster but I'd like to get the Cingular part corrected, the Wi-Fi fixed...
The clock and date going back to the wrong date if that can be fixed I think everyone will live happier too!
Thanks guys...Feed back for those who are working on this project im sure is greatly appreciated...

Epocrates is a HOG of a program for starters--not to mention if you read up on the consumers reports this program has a ton of issues with the pda version compared to the palm version--there are many out there who have the very same issue regardless of which windows OS you are running--the ability to sync has always been an issue with the pda ARM version.

Downgraded and upgraded to the Himalaya ROM, it seems faster yes, but unfortunately my bluetooth headset is still not working after I power off.
Since it's my job phone, it means that I have no choice but to downgrade again. Too bad, since I especially liked the exchange sync-feature in wm5.

Hmmmmm. going to have to downgrade again. reasons:
-keyboard still too slow (only just)
-no album app
-screen calibration went mad in landscape
-no netfront
thanks for the effort though mamaich - hope you hit the jackpot with this one eventually!

Well all, I took the plunge and applied this rom to my BA. It is noticeably faster, and most of the issues from the earlier version are gone now! It is more stable, and all works well with it for me. I would still like to see the definitive b\t fix...it still turns off on resume. :(
I did have to reflash it a second time after a hard reset and registry/hive flush to get it up to speed. On the first flash, it was erratic as far as performance was concerned. After the flush and reflash,it is NOTICEABLY faster than the first time. Also PHM work well with this rom!
Over all, a damn nice rom so far! Thanks Mamaich and all.......

BT is still D/C, DAMN!!, ok any ideas? Hello I've first downgraded to the latest T-Mobile W2003SE 142 ROM. Then made an upgrade to the latest WM05 Himalaya ROM. Now I have a Bluetooth headsetmode button on my today screen. I can put it on and off now. Perhaps this will solve your BT problems? I have no BT headset so I can't test it.

I've downgraded to W2003SE 142 ROM as well.
I did have BT headset working (Jabra 2500) when using Himalaya ROM, but for some reason I can't get BT GPS to talk with my Wm2005. I hardly use my headset, but I use my GPS more often. So I downgraded.
I used SX66 WM5 with Globalstat 308 GPS, SX66 fails to recognize the COM Port with the GPS. I tried enabling/disabling the Start;Settings;GPS but it didn't help.
Did anyone have the GPS working on WM5? If so, what's the exact setting on GPS setting in WM5 that you use?

In case you get a hardware error, remove the camera software and install it again. Make sure that you power off the device and after 15 secs power on and soft reset - that's what I did and it worked fine.
Also to get the camera button working, you need to copy and paste the camera shortcut (as explained in wiki) to one more folder - \Windows\Appbuttons (which was not mentioned in wiki) overwriting the existing one. That will make sure that the button starts the camera, not the Pictures and videos (which hapened to me).
To mr_ding - I have done a GPS setup in JasJar with WM5 - not sure if the same will be applied here, but worth a try. There is a guide to get Navigon 4.2 working under WM5 (for JasJar). Just do a search for it.
The main thing was that you had to modify two of the configuration files of Navigon to accept the COM port you're assigning via the bluetooth partnership. There are a few other things, but just search for it, hope that will help. I haven't tried on my BA, cause I don't have a GPS.

is it possible to change form the first BA WM5 ROM to this one, without loosing installed prog & data? Is Hardreset with option 2 & 3 enabled (set to yes) after flashing always necessary?
How ca i keep my installations & pim-data?

In theory you should ba able to do this but since there are major differences in the registries of the two versions that could cause you some problems.
What I would try to do is reset the registry hive but not format the storage (which in theory might preserve your PIM & Contacts while also updating the registry but you will still need to re-install your applications.

Well, just got this one installed and it is FASTER! No need to over-clock as far as I can tell. I believe I got all my programs that I had before installed and they all seem to function.
Issues:
1. Had to install the No-Sound Fix
2, My BT still turns off when I turn the unit on! [So much for being fixed].
3. Darn No Internet Connection Message pops up 1,000,000 times! Like I did not get the point the first 500,000 times!! ;)
A fix for that would be great - since I have to completely disable my Weather/News Display from trying to update.
Edit:
ID for BA US Cingular = AT%CID? If anyone needs it for upgrading.
Somewhere along the line I lost the WiFi Enable short-cut that showed next to the BT Enable short-cut [lower-right]. Anyone know how I could get that back? I am missing it already!

I have upgraded in this rom but there are 2 things that bugging me.
1. The camera: after the patch it is working fine, but there are 2 bugs, first is when you tap on the album button i gives an error"Unable to execute Album. Please make sureAlbum has been installed on your Pocket PC. 36001:105:0". The second thing is that when i press the camera key it keeps open Pictures & Videos.
2. Pocket MSN: I can sign in the first time, and al is working except the messenger, i can open my mail at hotmail but can not start messenger at all.I have tryed reinstalling the Pocket MSN with a package downloaded from microsoft, but the setup tells me that i have pocketmsn and have to uninstall to install this version, then i found a cab version of pocketmsn installed it but sill does not working...
Album bug solved with installing Album an midi patch by ramram
Button bug solved with placing a shortcut for camera.exe in \windows\appbuttons
Anyone have idea with fixing PocketMSN ?
Also I have noticed that the cache registry keys in this version are difrerend than in the other, wich may be the cause of the huge speed gain
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\FATFS\Buf ferSize=2304 (DEC)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\FATFS\Cac heSize=4096 (DEC)

Hi all,
As this is my first post, first of all like to thank all that have contributed to making this device a gem to use. Thanks especially mamaich, buzz and et al..
I tested this rom on my device and it seems quite stable except for one major issue. Not sure if anyone noticed but after testing this rom it pratically screwed up the radio. the reception is extremely unstable keeps going on and off. meaning that even though the indicator suggests that the device is connected to the GSM network but when you try to make calls it just doesn't connect. I need to either reset the device or keep repeating the dialling process (eventually it goes through). And the most frustrating this is that when someone calls it rings once or twice and then it's cut off, after that the other party will get a no. not available when they try to dial again.
Not sure if anyone else comes across this, maybe they can shed some light on this issue. I have tried using other roms (even original BA rom) but problem still there.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks and Happy New Year to all!

I have no such problem with any of the WM5 roms, does the same bug occurs with your device with WM2003 rom ?
If it does maybe the problem is in your device, or operator coverage.

@xplode
yes, it's a permanent problem now. i have revert back ro 2003se and the problem still there. i have tried every available rom from wiki and same problem exist.
i don't think it's the network coverage either because it can happen even if the phone is in the same place. ie, i leave my phone in the room with the signal on and everything working. a short while later (there's no fixed time) comes back and try to make a call there's no signal, or if someone tries to call it will ring once and then disconnect and the other party will get the "subscriber not available" message.
this never happen before installing hima rom. also tried the wizard rom but still the same.
would appreciate some help on this.

This is what I have found as well.
I noticed in HKLM\System\StorageManager\FATFS the Flags value is 68 instead of 40 which is in many of the tweak guides. I wonder if that has anything to with operating speed. :?:

Truly? I thought just the opposite. I ran the himalaya version for a couple of weeks and when the wizard port came out I ran it and was immediately impressed by the speed increase. I also hated the notification bug in the himalaya rom where you could never get out of the looping bug where it constantly informed you that your GPRS was connected. Also, I cannot find that StorageManager registry entry on my device which is running the wizard rom, am I looking in the wrong place? I looked under HKLM\Storagemanager and I don't see it.
Thanks!

IntelliPad works fine with WM5, it's the SmartDialler that doesn't run at all. I don't think it's a skinning issue as the SmartDialler used to have some options that appear in the phone application in WM2003. These are not available anymore in the WM5. Anyone has any input on this?
