Hello world.

After almost a year with a messy Nokia Communicator 9500 (it took 124 secs to render the eBay.com start page), which replaced my XDA2, I couldn't take it any longer and ordered a Qtek 9100 yesterday.

Since I am a O2 (Germany) subscriber I would like to have my homezone displayed. I guess the homezone indicator requires installation of a special app, as before with the XDA2?
Further, if so, does anyone have a clue how to get and install the homezone indicator without installing the whole O2 ROM? I would prefer to keep my device unbranded.

greetings

Even the o2 branded XDA mini S is not shipped with a homezone software. An attached sheet indicated that there will be a program in the future, let's see if o2 can do....

Meantime you can use the voice indicator, which can be switched on in the rate manager (Phone No. 1414, Menu 1 - 5)

Unbelievable! These dabblers are unable to cope anything!

I had a XDA2 for several weeks last year until I was fed up of this piece of shit:
They released a ROM update after which I couldn't restore my older backups. Then they withdrew this version and told me to downgrade to the older version which they provided on their website. That older version first deleted the old ROM, then determined, that I'm trying to downgrade and abborted therefore, causing an empty ROM.
After this I called the special XDA-hotline and explained the problem twice to four different operators, who eventually blamed me for the empty ROM. In the following weeks they sent me two more XDAs, which came both with the withdrawn ROM version, so I couldn't restore my backup again. I called them once more and told them precisely what happened before. Anyway they instructed me to downgrade again and I did it. Guess what resulted! An empty ROM! And they still continued to admit, that there is no fault on their side!

O2 Germany is totally incompetent regarding HTC-devices and now they release a smartphone that won't indicate the homezone, allthough more than 70% of their postpaid customers have chosen the "Genion" tariff for it's only advantage, the homezone!

Sorry for my offtopic writing! Anyway thanks for the information, Gnarfy!
