Getting rid of answer phone symbol?

I use an Exec with an Orange SIM, all works well but I got an answer phone message yesterday, listened to it, deleted it, but the answer phone symbol is still there! :roll: Anybody any ideas how to get rid of it?!! Thanks!

Yeah, leave yourself a message and then delete it from the handset, the symbol should go

would I be correct in assumeing from your messages here, that the universal has a built in answering machine program? If so, can this program be shared with others on this forum?

I tried leaving myself a message again...now the symbol has gone! Wierd.... :?
