Hi Dudes !
Anyone can help me to make that Program ftp://www.leadtek.nl/mirror/gps/Tools/WinCEMonitor.zip
usefull ?
I need it really to reset my Holux BT 236-Mouse, because every 2-3 Weeks that thing freeze and get no sat-fixes.
That is the only Program, who can fix that bug with a factory-settings reset on the mouse.

Now the Problem:
The Program Win Fast works on my VPA4,- but it shows me only these Ports to get a connection:
IRCOMM Com3
Serial_FIR Com2
Serial Com6 (RIL)
Serial_BTU Com7
Serial_dbg Com1 (Cable)
QCTComposi Com9 (Data Interface)
here is no Port 4 !

On my old XDA IIi the Program works on Com 6 and it shows me the Ports 1-6 and Port 9,- thats complete other Ports than under WM5.

My BT-Settings:
My GPS-Mouse come in Com4
and there is a incoming Port on Com8

In the GPS-Programm-Settings (Today, Settings, Connections)
There is Com Port 4 (Hardware)
and
Port 7 for Software

TomTom5 and Sky-Map (Flightnavigation)
both works fine with Port 4 like the Mouse-
but not Win Fast Navigator...

What is the best way to get a connection with these Program ?
I heard, that WM5 can manage all these Ports...

Anyone have an idea ???
I want to stop using my old Device,- but without these Program i need the old one too :?

Thanks for help,-
Jay

I tried WinFast Navigator with my Holux GPSlim236, but found no port configuration with which the o2 Exec (Universal) would communicate.

Before buying the Holux 236, I looked at many other manufacturer's manuals and many indicated that the retained current location can become lost or invalid leading to a long "Time-To-First-Fix" when next activated. This happens particularly when not activated for some time, e.g. between 20 and 60-days, or when physically moved by over 500km. In these circumstances, a cold restart of the GPS receiver would be necessary.

The Holux 236 does come with a utility on CD-ROM (called GPS Viewer) that can warm or cold restart the receiver. This utility is also available from the Holux web-site:
http://www.holux.co.uk/Products/gpslim236/download.shtml
GPS-Viewer works on the o2 Exec, although not all the screen is viewable in landscape mode, and the cold-reset command does work.

Cool !
Thats correctly my opinion. Iīm a pilot and fly many kilometers in short times, that is the reason, for the many full memorys on the SIRF III Chip.
After a factory reset, it work for a few days than it canīt fix again.
But I didnīt know, that GPS-Viewer can do that thing and works on our device.
Thanks a lot,- but...yesterday i killed the damn mouse with too many factorystarts with my old XDA IIi and send it back to Holux.
They say, it needs only two or three days to get a new one.
They change it complete, and fix it with new software.

Also... why not ;-)

GPS-Viewer works after it too.

Greetings & many Thanks from Germany,
Jay

Glad that you got a good response from Holux, and hope the new device and firmware is better for you.
I've not managed to find a manual that covers the GPS Viewer program. The attached .PDF is from another manufacturer's device, but briefly describes the cold reset function. Hope that it helps you.
