Yipppppppeeeeeee!
At last! Not only have the guys at TomTom fixed what seemed to be memory overflow when the phone was moving onto another cell, but when the phone rings, it automatically mutes TomTom! Thanks TomTom for finally fixing it.
Just to let you know, I'm running TomTom 5.21 with a TomTom Wired GPS, ROM V 1.11.00 WWE, Radio V 1.03.00 (not O2's), ExtROM 1.11.162 WWE.
I still have the TomTom 3 POI file and not the TomTom5 POI file, so I'll have to test with this version.
Therefore, I can make the following assumptions and hopefully help all the XDA2i guys out there having problems;
1) If you have a wired GPS, you must turn off the Infra Red Beam (Settings, Connections, Beam - Make sure box is not ticked)
2) There is a problem with the XDA2i crashing when using the TT5 POI file, if so, replace this with TT3's POI file. This file is in the Great-Britain-Map directory on the Storage Card and is called poi.dat, as I said above, hopefully TT5.21 has also fixed this problem, I'll let you know once I've tested
3) There is a problem with the XDA2i crashing when the phone is enabled and you drive between GSM cells, it seems as the memory gets screwed up and then the device crashes. TT5.21 has fixed this problem for me. Also bear in mind, I'm running the Radio V1.03.00 which may help matters.
Hopefully this will put to bed some of the problems with XDA2i and TomTom. Sorry if this has been posted before. Also to confirm, when I'm now using TT on the XDA2i and taking calls, these calls are also via a bluetooth headset.
Big round of applause to TomTom for finally fixing this for us!
