O2 have withdrawn the 170 rom as it had issues!!! (like the others don't!!) That is why it is not there any more. :lol:

I downloaded it one month and a half ago and i don't see the difference between v.1.11.169 and v 1.11.170 except Backberry v.2.0. If yours is good,I think you enjoy it.That's the best way.

The radio in rom for Alpine v1.11.170 is v1.04. Check it again,pls.

just a quick question, does anyone ever risked or ever brick their PDA in trying to upgrade the PDA using the ROM ver 171 ?

is it safe to do upgrade ROM even via the website ?

I'm worried if it would broke down my PDA. :-(

Another question - on next page O2 asks for IMEI and phone number. Somehow I can find IMEI on my device ;) but how can I obtain valid UK O2 tel. No??? It was bought on ebay... So is there any links where i can download this latest ROM ver. without tel number? Thanks.

I'm still on 1.10.124 and Radio 1.00.00. Will 11.171 improve things - especially the phone and WiFi.

Will I be able to get my O2 settings back if I use one of the alternative ROMs?

I live in Australia and own a O2 XDAIIi.

I have had a lot of lock up issues which resulted eventually in the local service agent replacing it via O2 abouth 18 months ago. The unit still locks in phome mode but no where near as much as it use to. I can find the soft reset switch in dark!!

Anyway I am not happy with the overall stability and was wondering if 1.11.171 would improve this? I have downloaded the file but would like to get advice first.

My phone has the following

R 1.00.00
G 1337.39
D 1.11.00

I am also having screen alignment issues.

Would appreciate some input into what the best update to load into the phone.

I appreciate your reply and link to the file.

I will upgrade my XDAIIi with the file. Can I humbly ask if you could point me to a qualified by you link to the correct way to do the ROM upgrade?

There appears to different variations here as to the correct way and all I can do is guess which one is correct which is dangereous. Knowning you have successfully done the ROM upgrade I would value very much your recommended upgrade process.

Hope I am not asking too much.
