Hi
Does anyone know if I can use an mp3 as my ringtone and how I would go about it?
Thanks

Sorry, you can't use an MP3 as a ringtone. you can only use WAV or additionally WMA files. You must paste the WMA file into the rings directory for it to work. I find the song I want in MP3, open it in a sound editor, just select about 30 seconds of the song, and delete the rest and save it was a WMA, that way you get your WMA ring, the song you like, enough to hear it ring and still save on space.
Hope this helps,

I think there is a sollution!
Check out this cab file!
It's for XDA mini but.....I hope it will work for Q2020!
My phone sounds like that standard "old phone" ringtone!;)
If you really want to impress someone....try to be different and instead of "top 10 melodies" put something "non-convenctional" :)
GOOD LUCK!! Hope it will work!

you can use any MP3 as a ring tone just copy it and past it in
-->\Windows-->\Rings . thats it now go to your ring tone settings and you will find it in the tones list.

mmm... that doesn't work for me.... even if I do save the mp3 into my rings folder, it still doesn't come up, WMA's will though.
(edit: sorry the link for the patch didn't load first time I see it now.)

It does work, but ONLY if you have the midi patch loaded.
See attached. You can check if you have it if you try do play a midi file: if it sounds crappy you do not have the patch.
This patch also makes MP3 work as a ringtone.
To use any file as a ringotne, put it n the \windows\Rings folder
The patch was part of many ExtROM's

I already install MIDI.sa.CAB found in Extended_ROM.
The MP3 file don't have to in Ring folder.
You can store the file anywhere u like and set it as ringtone from Phone or Sound in System.
