I own a xda 2s from O2 england........

I Unlocked it to work on "US" tmobile.......

Anyway........I feel Victim to what kills MOST cell phones......."I had it in my lab while driving & hop out the car not realizing it was still on my lap*

The phone had minor scrapes on it.....nothing major......*but so i thought*

About an hour later ....I felt my phone vibrating....when I took it out the case......the phone was damn near meltin in my hand.....hot like fire........So i took off the battery & waited a few mins for it to cool off.........after that I noticed my battery was @ 30 % mind you I jus took it off the charger & made no calls........any way as the phone cool off the battery level went up a tad..........

I then made another call.......it was fine...but after 5 mins.....it got real hot again........so i took off the battery & left it off till i got home & charged it.....

since that day everytime ah call is made I hear crackleing from the speaker......*but not when I use the blue tooth or ears piece*

Now it seems like the speaker has totally melted so EVERY SOUND from it sounds distorted & low.................My battery life was cut in half if not more.....& from time to time the phone still over heats......

******Is there ANYTHING I can do outside of getting a new one?*****

i dont know where to get it replaced coz im not from your part of the world...
there are o2 service stations all over...and i presume its a hardware problem coz it cant heat up bcoz of a software issue..jsut go get it serviced

If it is getting hot, it sounds like you have a short circuit some where in it, and you are lucky that it is still working. I would avoid using it until you have had it repaired/looked at.

Sounds like you've snagged a speaker wire and it's shorting against the case. Are you confident opening it up? I have the speaker assemblies as spare parts and have written a stripdown guide.

If not, send it to ppctechs or similar.
