Anyone got one or know where they are available and in stock?

Seem to be a rare commodity in the UK and can range from £25 to £40 delivered.

Have a look at this side. It's got a wider range of cases.

www.mobilefun.co.uk

You must be very carefull in your final choice if you have the JasJar. Some cases are not very functional with Jasjar and can potentially harm the screen.

As to expansys, it's not very reliable. A year ago I was sent the wrong screen protectors and they refused to change them probably because they didn't have the right ones. So, beware!

Alternatively, you can try ebay!

Thanks,

The case is not in stock there either. It's a holster type I'm after, in good quality leather.

I've never had problems with Expansys, and believe me even the places where I have had problems I've always got my rights to back me up and have never backed down or lost money.

Expansys in this case (pun intended) are too expensive as there are several places that do it far cheaper.

I got the Xax case for my 9000 from Expansys without any problems. It is a nice case made from medium/high quality leather and it hangs ok on your belt, although because of its size and weight it does move quite a bit. My only problem is that I still have to take the phone out of the case to make a call or to see who' scalling. The new case from Covertec seems like a better option but I haven't seen it yet.

The Xax case suits my needs in that I use bluetooth and that makes incoming calls easy. I seldom make outgoing calls as I'm an unsociable git - no actually I'm hoping for a fix to come out allowing MS Voice to work with the XDA lid closed.

In that case I think that you will like the Xax case since it fits the Universal extremely well without leaving too much of the device exposed. The magnetic cover is also very well implemented. As for being an unsociable git I know exactly what you mean, however in the few cases where I have to make a phone call I feel very nervous taking the phone out of the case especially when I'm driving.

I've seen that Expansys now have them in stock although much dearer than elsewhere. So I have now ordered it on the expectation of a delivery due this week from another source.

I have no problem getting my XDA out to make a call as not only am I unsociable but I'm terrifying looking and make muggers run away screaming just by looking at them.

Yay,

Case arrived yesterday and seems as good as I expected. Now just to see how it goes in real-life usage.

Paid £25 delivered from Clove instead of the Expansys £40 :)

Avoid like the plague

I can confirm that there is a problem with battery drain when using this case - im sending it back to expansys for a refund and have notifed them of the thread specifying the design fault and heating up of the XDA exec when using the case.

Can anyone recommend a different case with a belt clip that doesn't use magnets for the closing mechanisim, perhaps a stud or open topped one?

You could try a Krussell case. I have just got one. Not sure how good it is yet, but it has a belt clip (multidapt) and two studs to hold it shut.

Where did you buy your Krussell case from?

I have just bought the new Covertec case for the Universal. Although the leather quality is not comparable to the Xax it is quite functional and the belt clip works well. It also uses a magnetic clip but it is very small. I had'nt noticed any battery drain with the Xax whilst I was using it but that wasn't for very long.

What are you guys doing to your XDA that gets it hot & drained so quickly that I'm not doing to mine?

My xda sits in the case 24/7 (barring the odd times I use it of course) and has not drained any quicker or got hot.

I place my xda hinge upwards, with bottom of xda (battery side) nearest to my belt. Have it in laptop mode rather than pda mode (i.e display is protected and inaccessible when lid closed).

I did not get mine from Expansys though, I wonder if there's a different version or maybe mine's a cloned copy!

No Idea why but it's def the case, other day had it in the xax and it drained incredibly quickly , today put it in the 02 case that it came with an didn't drain at all.

There are 2 versions (without belt clip and with belt clip) which have the PDA inserted the opposite way round from each other.

Bad one - I guess you guys have this:

As I said in the other thread, mine fell apart after two days with the holder just slipping off the belt. (But I didn't suffer from battery drain).

Its just not worth it.
