Gone for good I think. I believe thats what the extended rom unlocker is for, so you can delete and add files and then when you hard reset it will setup as per your preference ie some programs you dont use removed and replaced with ones you do use.

I think thats the way the story goes.

Yes, they will be gone. That's why it's better to copy them first to your PC and leave them there in case you'll need them. Don't forget about changing the config file if you want to delete any cabs from your extended rom.

I believe you have to get rid of the Read-Only attribute before they will be gone for good even if the EXTROM has been unlocked
