Then I wont try it yet... I had a fit with the first version and my heartbeat went 100x than normal.. haha..
Plus, I've practiced the art of patience. I just wait for the "???" to turn into battery percentage in my today screen (Resco TOday plug in) before clicking the screen. It just takes 10 seconds or so.. better than forcing my device to be faster than it should be.. :P

Works fine with me at 624 mhz.
What is the max speed you have been able to achieve?

Seems to be working @ 624MHz, but with Auto Scale selected the speed does not seem to adjust automatically. Just sits there at 624MHz with range of CPU%ages between 32% @ 45% with only Activesync and no other programs running.
Also there seems to be only one 'speed settings' page which only allows scaling up to 624MHz not the 728MHz referred to as being supported. No sign of the 4 tabbed pages (Advanced; Meters and About pages missing) shown on the immiersoft website. This could however be due to running OzVGA.Therefor there seems to be no VGA support either.

Further update.
System now hung.
When trying to check 'programs in use' the system just hangs.
Uninstall coming up.

Works like a beauty for me.
Use Advanced speed Settings:
104 mhz 25%
208 mhz 50%
312 mhz 75%
624 mhz >75%
I do not have the courage to try settings fater than 624 mhz. (you need to enable show frequencies above 624 mhz. to do that).
There is a bit of flickering screen flickering filter does not do much).

Have you installed to Main Memory, or to Storage Card?

Do not install to Storage Card.
Use Device Memory (same for Tweak2k2).

Thanks
Installed now to Main Memory.
Auto Scaling now seems to work, including up to 728MHz.
This seems to have worked and despite short usage time looks more stable than when on Storage Card.
Still only one 'speed settings' tab with no options to adjust thresholds etc.
I assume this must be due to a VGA support problem because the speed settings screen is definately qvga format and not VGA

You have to click on Advanced and there you will get Advanced Speed Settings Iif we are talking about the same thing).

Do you confirm 728 mhz works fine?

Thanks for the advice, but as I said in my earlier post, there is only one "speed settings" page.
The only other items are the File; Options and Device menu's.

Swivel the screen around (in "portrait mode" and you should be able to see at the bottom of it Speed Advanced Meters and About (or set resolution to the default one).

Great
If I exit OzVGA then the tabbed pages appear.
Thanks for your help.

I can see all the advanced speed settings on mine but it won't even run at 663 never mind any higher lol. Just a blank white screen unfortunately.

Wrong processor architecture type I think. If you look on Wizard forum you will find the OMAP overclocker (and it won't work on a Universal before anyone asks).

IMHO the trial version of XCPUScalar Ver 2.93 is more stable than the registered one (which is not a helpful discovery after paying the spondoolies!). I have got it to work at fixed CPU speed of 624 - above that and all sorts of strange things start happening. Also have found that by not selecting the "Autoscale with CPU" function the system seems stable enough so far..........
PS Looks like I may have spoken too soon - was selecting the XCPU Scalar "Options" menu as I typed and a white box appeared where "Options" options (if that makes sense) should appear and the system has hung - will report further after soft re-boot.

I have to stop playing with this further 2nite because of other commitments but...
Re-installed XCPUScalar in main device storage (O2 XDA Exec) - was in extended ROM before. The programme works fine at 624MHz until I go back into it to adjust settings and then hangs the whole system (requiring soft reboot)when selecting "Options" from the bottom menu. Have tried with and without the Exec plugged into external power source. For info, I am also running SPB Pocket Plus, Pocket Breeze, Contact Breeze, Agenda Fusion, ROM = 1.13.82 WWE, Radio 1.09.00
For those having difficulty uninstalling (the uninstaller has not yet worked fully for me):
Run XCPUScalar (if not already running)
Select File/Exit XCPUScalar
Run the uninstaller
Then manually delete:
\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\XCPUScalar.lnk
\Windows\XCPUScalar.cpl
\Windows\XCPUScalar.exe
Unless you do these final steps the programme will not re-install corrrectly (although I am not going to bother again just yet having now tried it three times on storage card, on Device and in Extended ROM without success.
PS - Just tried to re-install trial software cab which worked for me b4 but it still remebers that my trial has expired (despite me subsequently buying the bl$%dy software!) Back to the uninstall procedure!!!!!!
Hope this saves others a few hours. Anyone had more success or tips?

Examine the CAB file with a tool like WCE Cab Manager, and it will tell you exactly what gets installed where and which registry entries are created.

No - had it - Uninstalling XCPUScalar now - will wait for a more reliable version (and the small delays inherent running the XDA at normal clock speeds). Shame though - was tempted by flashes of real speed between system crashes!!!!! Shame about the nugatory expense too. Hope this saves someone else some cash.
lbendlin - tks for the tip about using WCE Cab man to see what is installed. Useful.

I 'm running 2.93 on i-mate JASJAR with ROM 1.30.82 ... everything is working like a charm ... but the s/w doesn't keep some of settings like the Auto scaling enabling checkbox and the place of the speed meter in the Today screen ... the rest is all fine
My main purpose of this s/w is to save the battery time since I upgraded to radio 1.08 or 1.09 and it is drained in less than 22 hrs!!

Does XcpuScaler damage the cpu by makeing it run faster then it's supposed to?
All overclocking or clocking outside of the typical expected range can damage the system. But, probably just marginally. Most probably, unless you mess with voltages too and such, you'll have no problems.
Most of the time, even with overclocking, no damage'll show until the device is way out of its lifetime (nobody likes it anymore; maybe in 10 years?), and the only noticeable sign is battery life decline...

Has anybody seen the cab file available for download? I don't have admin access on this current PC so can't install async. Want to WiFi over.
Can someone paste it here?
