I love my new k-jam, but I am having a few unusual problems that I wouldnt' expect to be having. First of all it takes forever to find service when I go from indoors to outdoors. My old sony ericson would do it almost instantly where the k-jam takes about 5 minutes. It is acctually faster to restart the k-jam then to wait for it to find my service. Also sometimes it shows that there is shows a dot for service, but it doesn't have any and acctually it means the phone is "off". Is this normal? Do I need to upgrade?
Rom 1.1.9.3
Radio 01.01.10
Protocol 4.0.13.16
ExtRom 1.1.9.106
Last but not least I would like to change the time from 24 hour to 12 hour.
Thanks.

P.S. I have been adding this to all of my posts, because no one seems to respond when I make a new thread about it. Does anyone use Aol instant messenger and is there a version for wm5.0?

1) Consider a slightly better topic name :)

2) If the phone is "off" or in flightmode it does take a little time to start & connect (but not as long as 5 mins!). And do you mean you have no reception inside? ie phone working and connected outside, walk inside & lose signal, walk outside takes 5 mins to find network again?

3) Not AIM itself, but a multi-IM client which works with AIM (aswell as MSN, ICQ, Yahoo! etc) http://www.agilemobile.com/

Edit:

Forgot 4!

4) Start/settings/system/regional settings/time

Change to HH:mm:ss or H:mm:ss not h or hh but H or HH

In Phone/Options/Network, try changing the Network selection to Manual, and select the actual network(s) you are using. Should cut down much of the search and re-acquisition time.

i work in a basement where there is no signal, and it takes anywhere from 3 - 10 minutes to re-aquire a signal, it makes no difference if your network selection is manual or automatic.

this is a problem on all phone devices since 2002 PE my blueangel has the same problem, but the vario is a little bit quicker aquiring the signal
