Hi,

I removed Picture Password expecting the old Password application to take its place. But, even after a soft reset, it hasn't.

Anyone know how I can reinstall the old password program without hard resetting and having to reinstall all my existing apps?

Picture Password was ok but I found that after an alarm I would press down and ok on the physical buttons and turn the device off and when I turned it back on the button press password I had would not be recognised.

Thanks alot

Check this registy key:
HKLM\ControlPanel\Password

It should have value
"Redirect" = "\windows\password.cpl"
I think. But ensure whatever's there, there's no sign of the uninstalled picture password app.

Thanks vijay555,

The registry was as you said it should be. password.cpl seems to have been removed from my system. Can I download it from anywhere?

Cheers

borgs: I suspect I'm talking out of my a$$. I got those keys from the net, but checking my magician, my values are (note, no redirect value)

(DWORD) Group
(VALUE) 0

(DWORD) TimeOut
(VALUE) 0

I don't have password.cpl either.

Thanks vijay555, once I removed the redirect key and powered back on the password app reappeared. It seems like Picture Password didn't clear up after itself.

Thanks very much for the info - much appreciated.
