Why can not use mid files for sound of Alarm

I want to use the mid files from my older SonyEriccsin P910i phone, but it is not possible. Why? How can I solve this problem? :idea:

covert to wave and drop them into teh rings folder inside your windows folder in the exex.

Thanks for your answer , I will try it, but when I convert mid file to wav , the wav file will be much bigger.
