Jasjar Pocket IE (and Terminal Server Client) will NOT use existing WiFi connection yet other 3rd party Applications have no such problem!
MS Pocket IE (and MS Terminal Server Client) always tries to use GPRS connection and if I turn flight-mode on, it fails altogether rather than use an existing WiFi connection.
The following applications work fine over WiFi suggesting my network setup is OK:-
AvantGo Client Connect Updates
Weather Panel Updates
Opera Browser v8.5 Beta
My home WiFi hub is a Linksys WRT54G. Works fine with my old XDA II by the way.
Are there any Registry settings I need to change :?:
I have tried searching Tweaks2K2.net for a solution but no luck.

The alternative is that you could connect to your WIFI with your EXEC first and then open PIE. That is the procedure I follow. Click on the icon next to the signal bars on the top bar and you will be presented with a pop up window. Click on Connect to WIFI and after done, open PIE or Netfront and surf using WIFI.
Cheers, Vikas.

Thanks Vikas for your reply.
Sorry, but it was of little help..
Yes, I have a tower-like Icon with to and from arrows showing an existing WiFi connection. The Connectivity Dialog Box that appears when I click the Icon only gives option to "Turn off Wi-Fi", Jump to "Settings" or to "Hide" the dialog. It also shows the WiFi connection name and a bar graph showing connected signal strength.
When I hide the dialog then click on Start->Internet Explorer it shows a start page:
file://\windows\default.htm
If I click on a link on this page e.g. "club i-mate", I get a "connecting..." progress bar at the bottom of the screen shortly followed by a connection Dialog saying it is trying to connect to GPRS, 3G that I must cancel because it costs $0.02 per Kbyte! No page loads.
If I use Opera Browser, it uses the WiFi link and pages appear as expected.
Clear as mud :?:
I guess the O2 Exec ROM is OK but the i-mate Jasjar ROM has problems on my device. Easy money for Opera guys, they scored my US$29...
