how to decrease a minimum backlight?

Minimal backlight (1st position of lever) is too bright for me... And it exhausts batteries fast.
Is it possible to adjust a backlight finer?
Some software, patch, links, etc. ?

Hi, I've been searching for an app to achieved that but... no joy!
When I'm reading under my sheets I get blind with that light...
If that's your problem try Haali Reader. It's a freeware when you can change back-color and text-color and make a poor contrast better for your eyes.
